Kinda looks like a Steam symbol on it's right shoulder and I know it's a House Marik symbol on the left shoulder.

Could this be a hint from PGI that Mechwarrior Online may be available on Steam aswell?
Would MWO being on steam be good or bad?

In my opinion it would be great advertising just to have something Mechwarrior Online on the steam store for people to see.

(I know there has already been numerable discussions about Steam)

It's my understanding that this game will be sold. There simply won't be a subscription fee to play it after you buy it. ( My apologies if I misunderstood the meaning of your post )

Nope, no price what so ever associated with it. No buying, no subscription. Just donations for cosmetic items if you want them, as far as any of us know.

The game is free to play, it will not be "sold". You can download and start playing free of charge.

It's an arm. You can see the shoulder, and the muscles. As if someone was showing off the their muscles. There's a gloved hand/fist to the right on the end. Look closely.

Also, the game is F2P. There is no F2P game that I know of which is sold. Therefore putting it on steam would be redundant when they can have client of their own to download and install the game.

No, it's a flexing arm. I'd hope this doesn't end up on Steam as Valve would rob PGI/IGP of plenty of the money they would make from store purchases.

Lots of FTP games are dispensed via steam, both new titles and old ones that are just now getting on the steam boat. It opens up the game to a large group of players who otherwise may have missed the advertisement for MWO. A million people a day go to Steam and look at the list of 'Free to Play' titles offered by Steam.

A real question is, how much does it cost these companies, both large and small, to put their game on Steam?

I personally LOVE steam, but I know there are many who dislike it.

One of the Devs recently mentioned their own distribution via their client. Although I think a STEAM release would be great, I have a feeling they are not going that route. At least not right away.

Cheers.

If it is on Steam then players like me can have friends on steam join my game directly, have the Steam overlay (which is great because of its web browser.. and chat system), and (small but I like it) have a external log of how much time I have spent with the game open.

If they do it right then I can just use my Steam wallet to make purchases in MWO.. That would be really cool aswell

Having there own client makes steam redundant ...... really

4 million + users per day on steam , what kind of advertising would the game need to match that kind of exposure ? .

Pretty sure they mentioned you can buy mechs with cash too. I'd guess you can basically use real money to get more C-Bills or something similar but can't buy the experience point based upgrades.
