More gameplay videos! or: Isn't is time to see real assets instead of concept art?

I'm sure everyone is stoked to see the new Awesome reveal. Looks good, gives those assault pilots another mech to play in(Obviously we knew there would be eventually!)
The concept art is nice, but we know you guys have real game assets now; why not show some more videos? Let's see the Swayback in action overheating itself and exploding! Let's see a Catapult let loose with a huge salvo of LRMs!
Even if we can't have any videos yet, why not images of the in-game assets for the 'mechs? Let's see how well the art turned into tangible game models.

Or, if we can't get a new video yet, at least some more images of the in-game assets. Full resolution in-game shot of the mechs revealed thus far. How about in-game shots of the Dragon, Centurion, Commando, Catapult, Awesome, whichever ones have the model finished. Eve if none of them but the jenner, hunchback, or atlas have complete models, we could still see some new high-res stills of these mechs.

You do know aside from the Jenner, Atlas and Hunchback, only the Catapult is in the game done right? That was also only a few weeks ago.

We'd all love to see new video or screenshots. They'll reveal them when they can (Read allowed by their marketing plan)
They just recently introduce JumpJets, Catapults, and Swaybacks in the internal Testing. Keep on eye on this thread http://mwomercs.com/...lay-test-today/
and sometimes those
Sure it's not gameplay video but it's great stuff.
Cheers.

That'd be great!
But I know how intelligent you are Aegis. You can think of a thousand reasons why they cant or wont do that right now.
But it would be.......................(wait for it)..............AWESOME
Cheers.

I'm sure you could think of reasons why. Think like a business. There could be any number of reasons why, many of them legit business or marketing decisions.
(I'm not saying these are official, just some random reasons I've seen in the past with other companies)
-The next official In-game screen shots or video are promised to a media outlet like PCGamer magazine, GameSpy, or Games Radar. It's very common in the industry and they wouldn't want to ruin that business relationship.
-The new 'mechs are not 100% finished in either modelling, or animation. They would not want to release something thatt's not totally ready for the public to see. They're "good enough" for the internal teams to use for testing, but not for public consumption.
-Paul hates us
-Marketing wont let them because they are saving as many assets as possible for a big media blitz.
Dont get me wrong. We're all 100% behind you. We'd all LOVE to seen new Screenshots or video. But I can understand why they cant or wont right now. You kinda have to figure that they know that most of us visiting the forums they own mind, body, and wallet.
Why cater to us? Garth could show up, bust down my door, kick my dog, steal my beer, grab my wallet , fondle my wife, and steal my computer. And I'd still hand over my wallet when MWO is released.
He knows that. And right now he's looking up flights to Georgia.
But they do need to worry about those riding the fence. That random video game player out there who they are trying to introduce an awesome (Sorry, its the word of the day) compelling video game to. And they could potentially screw it up by releasing sub-par media.
And I'm not saying they don't care about us on the forums, they obviously do. They love....uh...some of us. And give out as much info as they can.
But who knows, maybe they *DO* have something for us just waiting. Lets hope soon.
Cheers.

I want some of that! I know it's a ways off...but still, I can dream. Although some of my dreams involve me in the cockpit of a Dire Wolf, crushing the inner sphere shouting "For Ghost Bear!" then my wife comes out in this frilly little thing...I have weird dreams.

Good videos are important, can't just throw around any old thing, first impressions are important.

Also many older, if not just many, gamers remember one or more features that were promised/planned/rumored to be in <insert infamous game name here>. And IF it was delivered was horribly implemented.
The dev team is quite right to hold their cards close to their vests. This way the epic qq and irresponsible raging will be one less thing to deal with on launch.
