Can we get a confirmation that all MC will be reset again once the game goes open beta?

I'm nervous about spending any right now.

I wish folks would read the patch notes and developer comments more.

Knockdown has not been permanently removed.

Let me repeat; Knockdowns have NOT been permanently removed. They have been temporarily removed so that the system can be better polished and refined to deliver a better experience to everyone. Once it's ready, they'll re-implement it into the game.

As for the Centurion bit, only grip I'll give people is that with the removal of the previous variant, and introduction of the hero mech, it does mean that those who don't have MC to pay for the Hero mech get screwed, until the new Centurion variant comes out.

In the future, it might be prudent to wait to release a Hero mech until a design has three variants available before the mech is put forth, that way those who can't (or won't) buy MC don't have to suffer.

Mostly though, folks just need to get over themselves and enjoy the karkin' game.

After playing a few games it seems that the mechs still glow like neon signs after being hit... thought that would be an easy fix. As it is their armor radiates light like the sun when it gets even scratched..

I like what I see. Can we exit the game without using the task manager now too? Didn't see that among the bug fixes.

Yeah that's a pretty short list of fixes considering what was/is broken. Still looks like a good patch though, from what little I've seen so far.

Didn't see that coming, but my Raven thanks you!

Also thank you for not entirely wiping out our C-Bills. It'll be nice to actually see and test all the mechlab and item changes without the pain thrill and joy of the new player experience again.

That's why they do it. They want peeps testing the **** & getting feedback ASAP. There's no point in grinding out unnecessary $/XP during a testing phase. Works for me. I bet Jennifer's gonna be happy too, but everything we're gonna destroy won't be happy that she's not as clumsy as she shouldn't be anymore. ;) I honestly think that a random chance to fall is OK, but the way it was, it makes no sense that I can hit a building at 140 kph with no probs but I back into a Fatlas & I'm on my face.

I only hope that when collisions are reintroduced, they apply to all 'mechs, and are based on momentum, not size. Two Atlases walking into each other should have an effect, and a light 'mech like a Commando should be able to get back up much faster than a heavy. A knock-down should not mean certain death.

I still get the huge FPS drops after a few games... but it's otherwise better... now I get it after 5 games but previously only after 2...

The LAG is mostly gone though so good job on that...

... then the double heat sinks, i think, aren't working as intended...

That aside, great patch guys!! I'm sure most of us appreciate the hard work.

Heat sinks don't seem to be working...and no map...the zoom module works as I thought it would but overly grainy, even more so than the look of the maps. Still not saving mech in the mechlab...have to go back and put things back in. Launcher closes properly for me now. I'm primarily an assault pilot and with double heat sinks not working and the zoom module less than stellar, there was little content I actually will use. I was most looking forward to the new Forest Colony alternate map.

YES!!! I KNEW YEN-LO-WANG IS THE HERO MECH!!!

Thank you very much, PGI. I appreciate your hard works. Keep up the good work, folks. ;)

Though I suggest you guys to reintroduce the mech collision to another mech based on classes, mechs' momentum and weights difference in the next patch. It would seriously ruin the fun if light mechs did not get tripped by heavier mechs.

PS: AWESOME-9M is introduced is another good news. ;)

Hmm... So spending 600,000 on an upgrade to FF armour uses almost all of my spare slots, and saves only 1 ton in weight, for no increase in armour value?! I feel ripped off. And it's gonna cost me another 125,000 to go back to the armour I already had, but never sold? WTF?!

Mind you I like the patch, not complaining, just listing them here in addition to the bug reports being made to make sure these get resolved.

Patch Issues:

-DHS in engines do not work as advertised. As mentioned in the notes and how they work in TT, the heat sinks in the engine are supposed to be converted to doubles as well, that's the whole point of the conversion cost. ;) To spell the math out(using TT values for examples). My standard Marauder II config(using a founder's atlas) uses 30 standard heat sinks and an XL engine. Total heat dissipation 30 obviously. Post patch I ran with the same weapons loadout on the old config and it works just like before the patch. Now rip out the XL and all the heat sinks, throw in 19 double heat sinks, would be 38 heat dissipation in TT and should be a roughly 33% increase in heat dissipation in MWO. Nope, I'm dissipating LESS heat, definitely a noticeable difference... Have repeatedly re-verified that the DHS are mounted correctly, still not working.

Why? I think we figured it out and other people seem to have as well based on the numerous other threads. Apparently, the game is still considering the 10 heat sinks in my engine to be standards but the additional 9 to be doubles, using TT values the heat dissipation would be 28. I can copy and paste specific entries in the patch notes that run counter to this if you desire but this will already be a wall of text so feel free to page up. One thread even has a CSR response that says it's as intended despite the patch notes being counter to that...

-Thermal vision, not listed in patch notes but is visibly more blurry then before.

-New PiP zoom function, why did I pay 2 mil and XP for this? It's too blurry to see anything. ;)

-Founder's mechs no longer constitute a distinct version in the pilot lab mech tree, so you cannot say have a founder's Atlas and an AS7-D both counting towards elite(for those of us who run with 2 of their favorite mechs to always be able to drop in one). Probably not a bug, but not listed in the patch notes either. If it's intended, fine, but warning would have been nice, I bought an extra Atlas needlessly and had to turn around and sell it... :)

-Minimum heat sink requirement, this is a penalty against the players for the devs design choice to not make all engines come with 10 HS like in TT. Never mind that the config you are running might not actually need those couple extra HS, you are forced to allocate extra tonnage to them anyways... Briefly mentioned in patch notes but no explanation or background. Probably should be a warning vice a lockout.

-Finally, the odd man out, I just dropped with my merc corp, ML, and was amazed to see "base under attack" as soon as the countdown finished. I looked around and I was the only one standing in the cap at spawn, I walk out, base cap stops, light above head comes on. Attempt to tell my team that I'm flagged as an enemy and voila, no team chat. I switch to global and while my text appears, I'm labeled as "Nouserfound" .... I still show up on the score board but apparently the game thinks I'm disconnected. I attempted to join in and actually accomplish something only to be completely unable to manually lock any enemies... The nub auto lock still amazingly functioned, but that's near useless in a city fight, I'd get a lock just as they disappeared behind a building. :P Took several screenshots but they don't show anything abnormal except my text in the chatbox...

Yeah, did a test on a Hunchback 4J. Grabbed Ferro-Fibrous Armor and Endo skeleton. Got me four tons of space for a reasonable price, in my opinion (Don't remember the exact amount, was something in the neighborhood of 650K)

I am a little disappointed that the upgrades don't scale better across different weight tiers. Seems to generate just a static weight decrease. Might be something to consider for a future patch.

will there be actual gameplay improvements rather than flooding us with special offers so that we are forced to buy stuff?
how about some double heatsinks that actually work!

Loving the patch so far. I bought the AWS-9M and did a few things with it, and hugely upgraded my Founder's Jenner. Very impressed with both. Still, there are bugs (people are talking about some oddness with the double heatsinks, for example), and I hope they'll be fixed soon.
