I´ll take a Mad Cat as salvage when the clans come over to give us nice equipment in the FRR!

Good luck with that

You missed the 'for you Clanners out there' part of the thread?

No one cares about the shoddy made IS 'omni'mechs.

I will take a Summoner against any Inner Sphere "omnimech" any day.

Pathetic Inner Sphere knock-offs...

Adder, no contest. Especially if I can get my tech to somehow pull out the flamer and mount a jump jet (I don't care if I could only mount one with that weight, I like the extra maneuverability. And without infantry or light vehicles in this game, one flamer isn't doing anything)... Otherwise, I suppose I can live with dropping the speed a bit to free up jump jet weight - assuming I can salvage the right reactor... Note to self, double-leg a Raven - downgrading to an IS reactor would still be worth it. Plus, think of the savings in repairs

Oh - hands down the #1 slot has to go to the Mad Cat, but from there I'd be tagging #2 as the Shadow Cat (preferably the Prime) and #3 as the Cougar. Especially in an engine that allows players to be tactically complex.

But then the Clan loving fanboy in me starts pining for the Grendel and a Dasher. Make 'em customizable and I'd be in heaven for months.

I did vote 'Other* Cause i am very fond of the Huntsman or as an Kuritan Officer at the Battle of Luthien named it 'Nobori-nin'.
Especially the H variant wich carries anActive Probe and an ECM Suite. It also mounts a pair of ER Large Lasers, a Heavy Small Laser, and five Heavy Medium Lasers that are all tied to an advanced Targeting Computer.

Summoner!

In "other" I would go with Savage Coyote, that beast would make a great addition to Clan mechs in a post-invaision patch!

Other (Stormcrow / Ryoken). Great balance of speed & firepower, maxed-out armour, no bad pod configs (every other omni has at least 1), looks like an Apache helicopter gunship on legs (works for me). The only slight mark against it is the silly hands on the Prime. But I built my 1st Ryoken mini with the arms off a Thor, & the 2nd one with the arms & missile pods from a Mad Cat. Much better!

My first encounter with Clan tech was a 2-day many, many players game at a convention. One of the guys had to leave at about lunchtime on the Sunday, so I dropped into his seat. I inherited a Ryoken-A with no frontal armour. Seriously, this thing had been flayed! By the end of the day it had destroyed 2 other mechs, some tanks, bunkers, and single-handedly held an objective against the Inner Sphere counter-attack. I fell in love. And it's never let me down since. :(

I'm not a Clanner but...

Just about any omnimech is good. The fact that it is an omnimech pretty much ensures that someone will find at least one configuration that they really like.

Anyway, I voted "Other" though I am a fan of the Timberwolf and the Mad Dog. My vote ultimately would have to go to the Blood Asp. Or, if I was to choose an omnimech available in 3049, it would be the Stormcrow.

Of course, the poll did not specify that it had to be a Clan design, so I will just bring up the Templar and call it a day.

Mad Dog, with the Timber Wolf as a close second, and then the Nova, and lastly, the Dire Wolf (Fire Support, then all-rounder, then close range dynamite, lastly huge but extremely powerful target)
