Kodiak

Kodiak isn't an Omnimech.

Orion

Nor is the Orion (or the IIC version.) And it's not a Clan 'mech, either.

I think the Kit Fox (Uller) is the 'best' omni.

I say so not because it is the biggest or the baddest, but because it is the most versatile, which, to my way of thinking, makes a good OmniMech!

:(

pretty sure the Kodiak is a natural omnimech (signature Ghost Bear homeworld mech), and also the IIC versions of IS mechs can technically be considered omnimechs as long as they have interchangeable weapons slots and significant redesigns of the internals.

Neg to both.

Kodiak BattleMech and Executioner OmniMech during design phase were attmepted to be paired to make a perfect Ghost Bear Totem Mech, but sadly the designs just did not mesh together like they needed to be.

The Kodaik was put on it's own, and it is just a BattleMech, and is often a CGB secondline Commander's mech. You will almost never see the Kodiak in a front-line unit simply because it does not have OmniTechnology. This is also why it has few variants, and they are numbered and not coded (alpha, beta, charlie, etc) like Omni designs.

The Orion, as well as any other IIC is as well not a OmniMech. They are BattleMechs and as such second-line and they take extensive modifications to change their loadouts. The IICs are not easily interchangeable, once again, look at the HunchBack IIC, there are only a couple variants to it, and they are factory made, not done in the field. Like the kodiak, variants are numbered.

As Coffinail said, neither are omni-mechs. They do not have modular weapon bays that can be easily replaced, they are constructed using their stock loadouts and are not designed to be modified.

*Edit* Which, despite this, both are mean battlemechs. Especially the Kodiak.

I guess I was misled by MW4's mechlab system, which gave omni hard points to all the mechs in question.

That was the bad part in MW4 - its misslead you that you can easily modified battlemech as omni-mech - i realy hope PGI will not do the same mistake .

If I had to pick from this list since they are all heavy mech's and not my primary stuff. I would go with the loki for the electronic suite and the speed. The thor would come in second for the mobility. Timberwolf is great but I find that the mid section gets hit to easily... Might just be me though.

Mist Lynx B and C or Ice Ferret Prime, always been a fan of these fast scouts, and the fact that they have fairly impressive loadouts for their size and speed makes them an instant favorite of mine. However I would love to see the Linebacker but that is still a ways out as far as the timeline is concerned.

I guess I'd pick the Timber Wolf. It's too iconic. Mad Dog comes in close second though. Not only are both mechs powerful in their own rights, they look damn cool too. Have to give a shout out to the Cougar though, as my third option.
