Everyone had a time or two when they ran out of ammo and was backed in to a corner. Its these times when we charge head on in to the enemy hoping at the very least to take one or two of theme down will your own life.

So how to fix the lack of ammo? Put a moblie feild base in the fry? Put cliffs in the game (if the devs havent already removed the likes of)?

Your thoughts.

obviously there is some crash damage in the game already, just as there was in the last iteration of MW. I am fine with crash damage...and while I tended to always pilot ballistic heavy mechs in drops, there was always a requirement for at least one back up to autocannons. The variant had to be able to take enough ammo/reloads to play for an extended period...if that meant sacrificing armor and weaponry in favor of 2 extra tons of ammo per weapon, that's what it took. I also made sure to drop with a back up plan(at least a large laser, PPC, multiple medium lasers, ect) in the event that my main ballistic weapons ran out of ammo or were shot off.

While frowned apoun, you could also self destruct yourself on an enemy. Simply running into the enemy to pin them down and do some damage or running into fire to try and TABFAB("take-a-bullet-for-a-buddy") is also effective.

I remember seeing a pilot skill for charging attacks in the Role Warfare Part 2 blog. My inner Grand Dragon pilot smiled at that. Also gives the Banshee another weapon. :D

Obviously yes. It shouldn't be a common tactic though, but rather a last resort attack, not unlike a kamikaze run. Not like it would surely lead to death of both participants but both mechs would be damaged and temporarily immobilized so it wouldn't be a wise course of actions unless there is absolutely no other choice. Retreating should be a more viable option in most cases.

Crash damage should absolutely be in. It always felt stupid the way 'mechs would smack into each other at full pelt in MW4 and just kind of bounce off.

But it shouldn't be anywhere near powerful enough to take a 'mech down unless it was badly damaged to begin with.

In MW3 I put a 400XL engine & MASC into an Annihilator. I would have loved to see crash damage in that situation. ;)

Crashing? I always though that was called 'charging'...

Yeah charging, I love it! I hated it everytime when the ammo was empty and you were dead, Charging is a proper kind of warfare!

Ive been killed by my own teammates when they crashed into me while crit in Mercs many a time, it should totally be part of this game, not only as a last resort attack, but also a way to throw off an enemy's aim and possibly overbalance them.

There should be no fix... there's nothing too fix... Ammo is limited for a reason and a balancing point for ballistics and missles

I approve if impact damage.

(SpeedxWeight)-([spent ammo weight]-[lost armor])=Damage

;)

Maybe a knockdown chance? Possibly improved by firing JJ's just before impact?

Can we get a proximity alert warning with a smooth velvety voice to croon into our head sets before bumping endo steel uglies?
