Does the color scheme of this 'Mech bother anyone else? Yen Lo Wang was Piloted by Justin Allard, and later by Kai Allard-Liao. Both of them have Capallen (Chinese) heritage. In fact, during his time on Solaris, Justin fought as a Capallen. So why does the paint scheme of this 'Mech look very Japanese?

Yen Lo Wang was always described in this paintsheme. Just cause it resembles the japanese Nisshōki it does not
mean a thing.

Cause.... it looked cool?

What other reason does a not house affilated man has to paint a mech in this or that way?

PGI did not decide to make the red sunburst the pattern for the YLW, that comes from the canon.

This ccg card art dates to 1997, and clearly shows a red sunburst:

A lot of people do not agree with it, but the reason is simple; PGI is sticking to canon.

There is a pretty detailed discussion on this very question here:

I havn't really looked through it because I don't give much of a damn, but maybe you will find the answer.

To hell with the canon! It does look japanese. When canon does not feel right, we should not follow it.
