Hello, I just got a hunchback, and wanted to try out the gauss rifle, so after buying it and the ammo, I went in and got it configured....
But now when I load into a match (after trying for about 6 - 8 matches.... I am unable to fire, I have searched everywhere for an answer to what happened.
Can anyone please give guidance.
I have tried using the arrow keys to select the gauss rifle, and pressing enter, using my left mouse button, as well as pressing #1.
But nothing works.

bought a new weapon, now cant fire.

You mean none of the numbers in front of your Gauss is lighted up in pale blue? If so, it's not in any Weapons Group.
They don't want you to know this, but... the button used to change Weapons Group is Right Ctrl. Move the two lines so that they cross over the number you want to use for the Gauss, press Right Ctrl, and voilà.

the other option to see if it fires is do \ which is right above ENTER and thats "Alpha Strike" which shoots every weapon you have at once..
if it fires with alpha strike but not with 1-6 then it is not grouped right..

Thanks for the guidance everyone.
De La Fresniere You are right, none of the #'s were lighted up in blue. It was just an Orange color if I remember right.
And thank you for letting me know, I think CTRL was 1 of the only keys I did not try to hit while running around.
Bloodshed Romance - Thank you for telling me the Alpha strike key, I did not think to try hitting that one.
Confirmed that it was not assigned, it is fixed now.
Thanks so much everyone.

consulting the controls in the options menu would've made this very clear.
