Yeah, right. Like the DC would bow to pressure from ComStar. There's nothing you Katana say to make me believe you unless you have proof to back that claim.

A phone company is forcing a successor state to recognize a newly formed nation?

All rumours of your benevolent communications company being complicit in shady business and interstellar conspiracy is absolutely false. Please forward the names of anyone who spreads these false rumours to your nearest ROM Diplomatic Operations agent. Peace of Blake be with you.

There's not a snowball's chance in hell that it's going to happen.

Talking of snow, who's up for a little sledding?

It's already a 15 year old affair in the current timeline. ComStar provided military assistance and equipment (ComGuard 'mechs like Crab and Crockett, and including some lostech) to Combine to secure independence for FRR. Ofc, independent FRR is also an advantage to DC itself since it cuts 2/3 of their Lyran front.

ComStar views unified FedCom as a threat and enemy of my enemy is my ally.

You do realize that the worlds of the Free Rasalhague Republic had already been conquered during the Fourth Succession War by Lyran forces? Recognizing the FRR by the Draconis Combine was a politically and militarily astute move, as the FedCom would likely have kept the worlds to itself in any case, the Duke of Tamar wanted to IIRC...

Recognizing the FRR made the best of a bad situation for us, as it reduced our borders with a more powerful, hostile nation, and made the FRR a border nation that we no longer had to supply forces or resources to. While it was certainly grumbled at by more traditional members of our military and government, it was the best move we could make at that time. Whether or not Comstar was involved is meaningless. I naddition, it angered some nobles in the Lyran side of the FedCom, who felt their sacrifices had been thrown away by "Davion Interference"

It "unconquered" those worlds from the FedCom and gave us a shield nation so we could refocus our forces where most needed.

What in the heck does "You Katana." even mean? You "Sword" I don't even understand whether that is an insult or a compliment...

You call 12 regiments and 2 training cadres openly disobeying the Coordinator and then being crushed "grumbling"? Hilariously, the 1st Altenmarkt Militia, which Takashi created to reduce rebellious activity along the Periphery was one of them.

It's interesting to see that there may be actual "proof" coming out now, 15 years on, of the backroom dealing that helped create the FRR.

ComStar would never do anything sinister.

I wonder were those Mechs and Aerospace with the white paint scemes came from?
