But i have a theory that because of how TV technology has been developing the last couple of years, that it may be possible to get a 40+inch TV that is just as good as a Monitor if not better. My goal is to get a 40 inch TV(or Monitor) that can do HD, 3D(using active glasses).
I haven't found any PC monitors that get that big so i am forced to look at TVs. So for those of you who are well educated on this subject, i was wondering if you can help me put together a "list" of things that make a Monitor better than a TV in terms of gaming, specifically playing MWO in nothing less than a 1080p.
So far, what i already know what makes Monitors better than TVs is this:
-Refresh Rates
-Response Times(is this the same thing as refresh rates?) Edit: no, it's not. It's the time it takes pixels to go from grey to grey
-Color Depth(you can actually find monitors up to 30 bit now!)
-imput lag(what exactly causes this and how can i tell by checking out a TV if it'll produce imput lag?)
Note: I'll be "adding" stuff to this list using the "edit" feature whenever someone posts to this educating me on something that isn't on the list. Thanks in advance to all those who do.
Am i missing anything?
I'm creating this post not just to educate myself on this issue, but because i'm on a mission to obtain a 40 to 42 inch screen(at least 40inch), whether it be a Monitor or TV, but with the best quality picture possible. Don't factor in budget when answering this post. I'm just focused on the technology, not the price because prices can always change, or there can always be an epic sale somewhere, especially with black Friday around the corner.
