Gaussapult is Made of WIN!!!!

Will cost a Fortune to set the Cat-K2 up, but its worth it

The Gaussapult will 1 or 2 shot Light Mechs, and takes about 3-4 shots with Twin Gauss Rifles to Core Atlas Mechs

Gaussapult is not OP, it just depends on your skill... if you have the Skill the Wield this Weapon, then you can be the Deciding Factor on the Battlefield to turn the Tide

the most op mech i see is the one piloted by a well practiced disciplined pilot, equipped with a good loadout for his/her role, performing a coordinated role with good team support... i am not that pilot, but i have winged for and dropped against quite a few.

Most people don't realize that light mechs are being protected by the devs so that the fast mech pilots do not lose interest. If you look at the weapons what suffer from "netcode" firing delay, they are the ones with large damage that can take out an entire section of a light mech with one hit. AC2's fire instantly, so there is no reason any of the other AC's should suffer a delay.

While balancing the game, the devs also fail to take into account that many people suffer framerate drops when fighting fast mechs up close. Average humans are able to drag their mouse over a 3 inch blob on their screens with decent precision. But notice that when engaging a fast mech up close, the framerate drop causes the target to skip ahead while the reticle moves in starts and stops.

The result is a lot of people feeling mentally handicapped while others get the feeling they are especially skilled. It's about balancing the game in the right way, not disabling some players to keep others interested.

Hmm Cicadas 2A_2B equipped with an XL340 don't qualify as OP? As Fast as a Jenner and better armoured. Now if only they had missile slots and jumpjets, these things would be a monster to deal with.

Well. Right now:

Gauss rifles outclass other large bore weapons like heavy ACs and PPCs
-'Mechs that can carry multiple gauss rifles (The K2) are the premier sniper loadout

The game doesn't properly track fast moving objects post-patch, and knockdowns have been removed
-The Jenner, Raven, and Cicada are all much more durable than intended

Streak SRMs have screwed up hitboxes, and the bad code penalizes tracking with direct fire weapons, particularly those with firing delays
-Any 'Mech capable of mounting multiple Streak launchers (like the Catapult) is difficult to outduel at close range.

But anyone who's ready to start talking about "learn your skills and grind up to the K2, and you too can be the king of the battlefield!" are fooling themselves. Come on now. Half of this stuff wasn't true a week ago. They're continually tweaking ACs. You know they're not going to be content to leave PPCs (the most iconic weapon in the game) the way they are. Double heat sinks don't work yet. Collisions are going to be patched back in. Jenners won't have lag shields two months from now. It's fine to take the temperature of the game at the moment, but don't go dreaming any long term plans about becoming an elite K2 sniper just to find that, say, large lasers or something have become the premier sniper weapon by the end of beta.

Since they removed the Mech knockdown, Fast Light Mech are a real pain in the ***.

They out manoeuver bigger Mech, are very hard to hit with lasers, almost impossible to hit with balistics. Even LRM are weak against them since they are so fast and avoid most of them.

Before last patch, we could try to ram them on the ground...

I hope the tackle will be reintroduced quick!

Definitely the Jenner, especially after the knock-down was removed. But they're fun to destroy.

They always come back - and in greater numbers.

Whichever mech killed me last is over powered. Simply because I'm the best, so anything that can kill me is over powered?

I think that's often the sentiment that people have. Every mech has strengths and weaknesses. If the enemy's strengths happen to coincide with your weaknesses, you're in trouble.

The Viking re-equipped with only SSRMs... How to oneshot an Atlas through the center torso from the front.

Jenner is good even when collision was in but when collision gets put back in it will go from op back to just annoying.

I don't find many Atlai to be very difficult to deal with in my Jenner. I feel almost unstoppable in my Jenner until I either get outnumbered 3+ to 1 or spotted by a decent Gausscat pilot, or within range of any Streakcat.

So I have the temptation to say Streakcat but thinking about outside my cockpit, anything with a greater reach can handle 'em no problem. I have trouble because the pilot of one can afford to suck ***, balls & **** & still take me down because my weapons don't have the range. I have to be within' 180 metres to do any damage & 90 to do max damage. I do find that the SSRMs seem to leave the mech at angles that a missle couldn't possibly, but really my speed in the Jenner gives me a better option against them unless I'm the only one left. I can either work on something else until there's an opportunity to outnumber it, or let a farther reaching teammate get it without going within range of its weapons. Another possibility is take the arms off but that's not always easy.

If I were gonna pick one though I'd still go with the StreakCat because it can be pretty quick, very well armored, JJs, farthest twist of any mech in game so far & the pilot can suck while being very deadly. They don't really have to aim or worry about leading targets or holding on target when firing, they just lock it, keep it in sight & fire continuously so you lose all your marbles. I'd just say it's an easy mech to pilot, but anything with a rep for being OP should also be accompanied by prejudice & be turned into a high priority target by all.

The quote of my earlier post could be alluded to "unstoppable force (Jenner) meets immovable object (Atlas). In such a battle the winner is likely to be the Jenner.

no mech is OP at the moment. each fills a particular role, each can be killed as easily as the next with proper tactics. Granted the jenner is fast and maneuverable and is annoying to kill, it is not in my mind OP. it can still be killed quite easily if you know what you are doing.

I would, however, worry if ever the madcat is in game. a heavy with lrm 20s lasers galore and goes 86...ouchies.

I want to say that "fast" mechs are OP at the moment, due to :netcode: and "LOL-WE-REMOVED-COLISIONS-LOL!!!"

But whatever.

Jenner...as long as collision is off, we dont need to discuss this, its the Jenner. Well...Cicada Pilots can raise their hands, I agree...but thats it.

Between, you Jenner pilots...how you like this:

200 Engine...he still makes 94.6 km/h...enough speed to outmaneuver most Battlemechs (exept other Jenners and the mentioned Cicada), give it FF and ENDO (at the Jenners tonnage, the repair costs dont get thaaaat much higher) and then you put 1 large laser in each arm.

Jenner with 2 Large Lasers...baybe...they have the priority build in (like a Mercedes)...stey still do "meep meeep"...and you can see the "?WTF???" on every enemy pilots head.

Ahh yes...your heat managment might be tricky.."caugh"...but hey...we are Mechpilots, we like it hot - dont we?

Nope the last match showed me again why K2s are overpowered, 4 K2 gauss + 4 K2 AC20s. Instant base rush win.

Streak Cat is the most OP and requires the least skill out of any mech.

Good thing it won't come out for another 10 years if ever.
