I checked, i searched all my folders, including spam. if they sent out the emails i'm not getting it. I got another email on the 26th of Oct, with no mention of an open beta date either.

nope none of this. i can't be the only one in an information blackhole.

Were you signed up to receive MWO newsletters in your profile? I didn't receive any of these mails ... but I wasn't signed up either. Presumably they used your communications preferences when deciding to send mail alerts.

Your inability to check your spam mail does not mean they didn't communicate with you. I'm sure since they managed to send out tens of thousands of emails without a problem, it was a conspiracy against you. Someone at PGI took time out of their busy day to remove you from a list. It couldn't possibly be that you are not checking your spam folder or blocked them. I mean you have 9 posts here so clearly you are an active member that contributes and focuses on staying informed, not someone that joins every beta they can the posts to *****.

I'm sure PGI will dive right in and address this issue for you. While you wait may I suggest you walk your very high horse over to the pasture and use our stool to attempt to remove your head from it's arse.

Edit: FYI it's a computer generated spam mail from a list that is computer generated. Odds and years of pc gaming experience tell me that:
1. You didn't sign up for the list
2. You signed up, got the mail and deleted it without reading or after partially reading it thinking, wtf does this stuff keep coming?
3. You are blocking it or it is living in your spam folder.

When tens of thousands of people have no issues getting something in a system run by a computer and the only human component in the entire machine trys to lay blame....look to the human.

I can also confirm I never received any emails except the one sent on 10th of October (Regarding the engine upgrade), and then one on the 25th of October.

I've checked my Spam folder. There's nothing there pertaining to MWO. Obviously there's a glitch in the system.

Those of you not receiving the newsletters, are you on Gmail, by chance?

I don't mean to be rude, but you are the only person to have brought the issue up that I have seen. That would indicate that it's something at the user end more sothan at the sender end. The updates were sent via email to all that were registered and posted here on the forums.

Ahhh, sorry for the double post, looks to me like the email thing is the issue.

I received a number of emails that I know two other folks in Beta never got. So, something happened to their email system on occasion making it so not everyone got them.

And you are tens of thousands of people? Perhaps you need a shrink?

Or, perhaps I should point out the millions of people I know who didn't get them. There, now we have a confirmed problem.

Cheers

... however i will wait for a heavier mech than the commando which i can earn in pretty good time

Love all the guys that spend tons of money and time to get bigger and badder Mechs.. When all you have to do is learn how to pilot a Commando (BTW repair costs are usually 10-20% of winnings.. )

FWIW - Commandos RULE !! My KDR is 1.83 and average damage per match of about 250 and EXP of over 700. Not to brag, but many matches, I can be in the top 3. Often exceeding the damage and such the Atlai have given out. Lots of this has to do with being all over the battlefield, which is easy to do at 139 KPH..

Rule 1) MOVE your A$$ a slow Commando pilot is a dead one

Rule 2) Do not stand in place EVER (See Rule 1)

Rule 3) Big slow mechs that have run off from the rest of their group, are EASY Prey for the COMMANDO.

Rule 4) LRM Boats taste like chicken..

I like to think of myself and other Commando Pilots as the scouting Hyenas.. we like to pick off the nearly dead and the poor mechs that got separated from their group.

Founders was a reward for a show of faith. Something you couldn't bring yourself to do.
It was originally to end on September 6th, And then again a month later, yet they extended it twice and you still didn't buy in.
You didn't buy it when they announced open beta would be the 16th either.

It was on their front page, in the announcements, all other the place online. Yet you didn't buy.

It wasn't even a gamble to buy in, They were honoring refund request all the way to last night. Yet you still didn't buy.

There was a failure involved in all this, and it wasn't PGI's.

here is what happened in case u didn't bother to read the rest of the thread or can't deduce.

1. they have 2 email accounts to email info to us, they used beta-newsletter@mwomercs.com and newsletter@mwomercs.com to email newsletters to us. I only got the updates from beta-newsletter@mwomercs.com.

2. since some people brought up the point of opting out for spam control, if i didn't want to receive updates from the newsletter, why did they send me updates from the beta newsletter?

3. they have somehow unified the newsletter recently, but as far back as 24 Oct i was getting emails from beta-newsletter@mwomercs.com

4. why bother to have 2 non exclusive newsletters sent from different email addresses? big screwup there, i would fire, demote or otherwise punish the person in charge. they have lost the $120 they would have gotten from me. if i never got the newsletter i would have taken steps to find out why, but since i got 2 newsletters I would expect more.

5. yes i have a lack of faith in the company, which has in my view just been proven.

All I can say is keep slamming them with these great post. The closed beta community told them the game was not ready for open beta they didn't listen so keep reporting bugs your unhappyness and let them know what you the open beta community thinks.

Thanks

That's fine, it just means you don't get the special rate given to people that DID have faith and decided to invest early.

Bottom line is that you opted out of the mailing list that gave information on MWO promotions. Since the founders program is a promotion, YOU cut yourself out of the loop.

Add them to your contacts list? Could be your spam filter is deleting them before you see them.

I don't think this is a spam issue, Pretty sure his issue is that he opted out of mail giving promotion info.

I have the same setting, and only get patch note emails.
Getting sent only what you asked for is not a problem on PGI's end.

Could have sworn you said you had. My bad on that side then.
Still doesn't change that the founders program simply wasn't for you, You will just have to pay the normal rate for MC.

To current and potential trolls, this is more an expression of disappointment and how the company can do better. The game has a facebook page, do they just use it for adding chrome?

People are not trolling you, they are pointing out that you apparently missed the communications, and those communications have been discussed quite a bit. There have been many posts about the end of the Founder's program (especially for a few days after it ended).

If you missed all of this then it is on you, not the game.

A cursory search of the forums would have turned all this info up. I know the search is somewhat borked, and the filters are inane at best, but if my two-finger-pecking techno-illiterate friend can find this info, so can you.

Something to check:
If you use an ISP and they have a webmail interface go to their webmail interface and make sure spam detection isn't turned on on your account. I've found that a lot of people who complain about not getting mails eventually discover that their ISP's mail client is filtering 'junk mail' for them and not delivering it at all.
