Hey guys, just wanted to toss out something here for all to see. First and foremost its been a blast playing and testing with you guys for the last few months and I look forward to the times ahead. That being said I wanted to make a few points to the closed beta community as we move to open beta.

#1 - Try to be helpful. We are about to have a MADcat's tonnage worth of new players influxing today. Please try to remember at some point in time (be it months ago or 30 years ago) you knew nothing about mechwarrior, heatsyncs or lagshielded jenners. Try to help new guys out as best you can and if you aren't willing to explain in game, at least point them to the helpful forum threads we've been depending on for the last several months. The quicker they get better, the more fun the battles will be. Pubstomping bads isn't fun, lets help them become strong so the victory is even sweeter.

#2 - Blend with other guys. Alot of people in closed beta were in due to founders and whatnot. Don't let this go to your head. I know we had some fun in the gold plated club but lets not let that joke become reality. These are fellow gamers that love mechwarrior. Embrace our brothers (then hit them with an LBX-10 in the knee).

#3 - Remember its still beta. Just open beta now. Continue to test, suggest, strat, build and play. The only thing that changes is that we have many more targets today.


I know this will be a blast today, the game is good and well on its way to great. Lets just make sure we do our part and make the community just as great and a haven for good attitudes and great players.

Live fast, Spam LRMs, and may the Many-Colored Winds of Fate bring you death.

In last few weeks, seeing more than one mech in forced shutdown was what I would call a rare event - people did learn how to play this game.
Today we will have way more rookies doing all of those stupid mistakes we did some time ago.

Just try to survive that, and pray that other team gets their rookies in heavies and assaults, and your - in mediums (I know I will regret this) and lights...

Agreed... GL HF. More people means more targets, but dont let it go to your head. Remeber to have fun and try to be helpfull.
