Just a reminder that this bug is still around, effecting old powerful rigs, as well as less powrful one (like mine). Hoping for a fix.

Workaround:

Delete MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders\ folder.

It will help for a while.

This has been happening to me over the last week.

After 2- 4 matches without restarting the client, if I pan my view towerds the center of the map, I will have my FPS drop from roughly 30-40 FPS smooth to an unplayable slide show anywhere from 2-4 FPS. If I pan away from the center of the map, FPS goes back up to an ultra smooth 30-40 FPS.

My solution is to restart the client and everything will be fine for a few matches.

Heres my specs...

I5 2600k at 3.3
8 gigs of ram
Nvidea GTX 560TI at stock speeds
Win xp pro 64 bit
Latest vid drivers

I have tried numerous things to fix the issue, including changing driver settings in the Nvidea control panel, deleting the shader cache, and a complete reinstall of MWO. Nuthing has helped.

This IMHO is a complete gamestopper for me.. I have searched the forums and have not found anything where a developer has chimed in.

Could a developer please reply to this post and let myself and others that might be having this issue that they are aware of it and looking into a fix please.

Thanks

They are aware of it and even had a thread request that received feedback and system details a few weeks ago. If yo bring up your task manager, performance Tab, click on Memory, keep track of the Committed memory.

The primary culprit was when more than one atlas died. They fixed that one for the most part but there is still an outstanding that they may or may not have tracked down.

Interesting. I've only seen it happen to me once. Started at the beginning of a match, and carried on into the next. Stopped playing for the day after that match.

I'll have to look at memory if it happens again. Too bad the MWOClient can't be compiled 64 bit, I have plenty of RAM. I am also using an i5 with an Nvidia graphics card (an old Nvidia GTX470). I'm using the latest WHQL drivers, and Windows 7 x64.

Now to see if I can find that old thread...

Can't think of any reasons off the top of my head that concludes it can't be. Blizzard made a 64bit client for WoW, so yeah.

It seems like i might have contracted this bug because i have seriously unplayably (even with a support LRM mech) low FPS now.

I see your problem. .

Win xp pro 64 bit

Windows XP x64 is a janky, buggy, largely unsupported first generation of x64 OS that was created and abandoneded within months in favor of Vista x64. Most manufacturers did not even bother writing drivers for it and you probably had to try and find server 2003 x64 drivers to make some of your hardware work right?

I urge you to Upgrade to Windows 7 x64, my system is almost identical to yours, I have never seen this issue.

No it happens for me on Win7 64 Ultimate too.

I noticed it only in the Forest Map and only when I look into the center of the map. When I turn my back to the center I get my 100fps as usual.

And it only happens after playing a long time (like 3-4 hours). Afte restarting the launcher its fine again.

I suspect a memory leak issue.

Troll harder.

For starters, XP 64 is Server 2003, simply without the most of the server features and some niceties tacked on.

"janky, buggy, largely unsupported"? Yeah, no. It's been regularly updated for the last ... 9 years since it's been released. For which, I've been running it for 8. No issues.

Hard to find drivers? Yeah, get with the times. When it was first released in 03 - yes, it was hard to find drivers, because it was the only ****** 64bit os out there. In most cases 64bit drivers were a simple recompile anyways.

Now (and for the better part of the last decade), it's as simple as going to any manufacturer's website and downloading drivers, if they aren't included. In most cases the NT 6.x 64bit drivers work just fine as well.

Oh, and vista 64? Wasn't released until 4 years later.

PS: Feel free to paypal me $300 for windows 7.

I'm the OP..

My specs are as above in the OP...

Since we were in Beta for the last few months, I did not think much of the unsuported graphics card message I get every time I start MWO.. And furthermore I did not worry about it since the game ran fine all the way up until the last patch, which started the 4FPS bug.

Anyway, here is a screen of the message I get everytime I launch MWO.. I never thouight to report it until I talked to someone tonight who is running the same exact card as me and he is not getting this message...

Maybe this has something to do with my 4fps bug.. But remember that the game runs perfectly fine untill roughly the 3rd game..Posted Image

Yeah I decided to ingore his post...

Personally I find XP64 bit much more solid than win 7 and vista... Which is the only reason why my work computer and the entertainment computer still has XP64bit..

Lets try and keep this topic ontrack.. This bug looks like it's associated with memory not refreshing, not sure if it's vid card, system or virtual memory.

Good luck as this bug really sucks...

I have had it happen to me several times on my Win7 64 bit machine. Happens every so often after playing for a couple of hours.

Last time it happened during the "waiting for people to join" pre-match.

confirmed I am getting it too. every 5-6 matches, next match loads, and I'm stuck at 4FPS.

This is not being caused by massive memory consumption on my end. my .exe file is fairly small...not the 1.5GB it was before.

I would face the same issue on my laptop after each patch; it seems that MWO is hell-bent on using onboard graphics, if available, instead of any dedicated GPU.
I'd suggest resetting your Nvidia Optimus or switchable AMD graphics to prioritize performance, if you folks are, indeed, using a mobile platform to play.
