EDIT--

Not a guide.. Title changed.. with any build YMMV..

Just a short list of what are some of the easiest builds the Pwn with..

most of these are quite noob friendly.. the jenner might need a lil skill but if u got it runnin 130+ Kph then the hard to hit factor becomes forgiving a lil..

haters welcome, but we all know why u'd be hatin..

--EDIT

1) JENNER JR7-F

mount 6 Small or medium lasers or tier pulse varietys..

mount a nice big xl engine

slap a bunch of heatsinks on it to finish..

run very fast circles around mechs goin pew pew pew

enjoy watching mechs spin and die in helpless circles.

2) Catapult CPLT-A1

Mount 6x Streak SRM's

Add 3-4 tons of ammo.

mount enough sinks to handle the heat..

max ur armor

mount the biggest engine u can..

get within 270m of enemy and get missile lock

pull trigger and grin as they go down like a sack of potatoes

switch to chainfire to keep them rockin and shakin unable to accuratly fire back for added joy

dont forget some Jump Jets.

3) Catapult CPLT-K2

Strip mech down to almost nothing incl. armor

Mount a Gauss cannon in each side torso

Add a good bunch of ammo with case

a set of Small or Med. lasers in Center Torso are optional for close combat

add back in armor and small / mid size engine (need armor more than speed)

minimal Sinks required (gauss runs low heat [1 heat].. only if u added lasers)

Sit back and snipe with dual gauss shots that have the largest range, fastest projectile (hypervelocity near instant hits) and suffer no ballistic drop

enjoy popping enemys for 30 single location damage every 4 seconds, and they drop before they can get close..

4) ATLAS AS7-D-DC

Mount 3x LRM-15 in torso. and Med lasers elsewhere

mound a mid range engine (speed is not too important) and heat sinks to handle the LRM launchers..

stuff as many tons of LRM AMMO as u can on the mech..

lock target at <1000m and >180m

chainfire all 3 launchers for a solid stream of missles that are devastating.

Other notable mechs would be the awesome AWS-8Q boating 7 meduim Lasers, or the hunchback HBK-4P which can boat 9 small or small pulse lasers, (med lasers doable too)..
these are only notable now because of engine changes that have reduced the size of engine u can mount on them, thereby making them slower and less useful.

Raven :
Jumpjets
Gauss or LB10X autocannon
Streak SRM
most fun in a scout mech which can kill atlas or jenners.

Hmm... You have to peel any armor off that?

well you could do that.....they work but have been way too overdone in Bata

but i'd suggest haveing fun and experiment. get a chassis that soots your playstyle and pratice lots with the trial mechs to find a playstyle that works. all else fails go with one of the above builds..... myself i like the DC for close work... but thats just the way i play. you will find your own way with practice.

WHY ARE YOU ENCOURAGING THIS?!?!?!?

Fine do this, but only if you want to be hated by EVERYBODY you come across.

encouraged for really good reasons... think about the visibility these mechs will get with a much bigger playerbase using them. think they will be ignored?

there is method to madness

Basically the only viable mechs with the current heat system.

you are aware that more mechs are coming so i'm hoping this is just a list of current mechs to buy, also if you buy just those variants you will be losing out on pilot skills above basic. you still sure about your suggestion....like your variants tho, they are good mechs

wut?

Each mech listed are variants that bad pilots in equally bad builds struggle with. All cheese builds.

Also the AWS-8R does the AS7-D-DC better with 4x lrm15s, med lasers and enough ammo to last a match.

of all the atlas variants you choose the lrm almost boat your in a atlas build a atlas big nasty brawler that can pinpoint snipe from long distance untill it gets in your face then just stomps on it. For example the rs 4 large lasers in the arms 2 streaks and a gaus this is a set up that is reliable and has good balance of long range and upclose. I should mention i won't run lrms on any of my mechs i don't like them but that is a personal choice. OH snap wait a sec all builds are personal choices just build what you like and have fun. i've even put a large laser and 3 streaks on a comando and had a blast so just have fun. One side note don't use a awsome for brawling you will die fast they have way to big of a week spot

meh, they're not bad builds. Certainly not the "be all and end all" though. There are certainly much better builds, but they do require more skill and good heat mangement.

I agree, build mechs that fir your style. There's no mech mentioned in the OP that can't be beat by other builds and tactics.
Experiment with mech builds that are going to fit how you want to play. Not a real accurate pilot? Streaks will be your friend up close. Not great at brawling? LRMs, AC2, Gauss, and PPCs are your friend. Like to brawl? Heavy armor and DPS are going to be your focus. If you think any specific mech build is going to make you a better pilot or "op" then you're going to waste a lot of time and money

The Jenner F build is pretty much the standard Jenner build. Its been on the verge of being OP since I started playing. Lots of sustainable DPS, massive speed, and with no collisions it fears nothing. Also it is really good for grinding Cbills, as it has no ammo costs. It can scout, it can strike once the battle starts, and easily eats up back armor and components. I've literally just run up behind assault mechs who are engaged with other mechs and just cut the engines and parked it and just fired alpha strikes into their back armor over and over with imputy, knowing I can just run off if they decide to turn around. Oh sure sometimes you have to move forward a bit if they are moving, but still. Speed against the big boys is king. When they do focus on you, you just run off, and you have the added benefit of taking fire off of a friend. It is a very satisfying build. Some prefer trading two lasers for two streaks, but its not as cost efficient.

Most people either really hate Jenners, or really love em. Either way, the XL engine is key. People say its "cheezy" but its not, its fun.

If you want to abuse how trash the netcode and lag is buy a Jenner with 6 small lasers

If you want to braindead your way through matches buy a Cat A1 and mount streaks

If you're a tier ***** fighting game style use a K2 with dual Gauss

If you want to braindead your way through matches from a little farther away buy an Atlas D-DC and mount 50 LRM's

Right?

They're good mechs for beginners. But there are much deadlier builds in the hands of skilled pilots...
