They're good mechs for beginners. But there are much deadlier builds in the hands of skilled pilots...
Name a few.
They are pretty much the best builds you can make, and a skilled pilot will utilize them to their fullest.
The Gauss Cat is surprisingly versatile - you can run it as a sniper, but when forced into a brawl, it still works well.
The Gauss Rifle is dealing solid damage at all ranges, produces basically no heat, allowing you to sustain your rate of fire.
It gets even better by its small side torso profile w hich makes i hard to take out the weapons.
It's only weakness is its large cockpit hitbox - but since you only need to fire every 4 seconds, you have a few seconds between shots where you can keep your head moving and difficult to track. Of course, that's more the area where skilled pilots get to shine - both those that can nail cockpit shots everytime, and those that know how to maneuver and move their torso to protect their soft spots.
Everything that can threaten a Gauss Cat can usually also threaten any other mech as well.
