How? How can you can compensate for irregular damage recognition on a stationary target?

What is this magic technique that no one has ever heard of?

If the target is stationary I don't have problems. I often destroy shutdown mechs.

Try shooting a max speed light while driving a max speed light. It's frustrating :-p

not a problem really, I take pride in my work of hunting light mechs with my commando

And yet the problem persists on stationary Mechs.

As you can see in the videos.

Okay. I know you're just fanboying them now.

Lin and I came to the same conclusion too. It is especially noticeable when a mech shuts down.

Apparently it's a bug from their attempt at fixing the hit detection problems from lag, except it ended up making hit detection worse overall. They're rolling it back ASAP from what I heard.

If you see it this way then ok. I can understand that people have problem with shooting stationary targets. This is due to two facts:
1) We all play on Yankee servers
2) There is not client hit detection
fix the above points and you fix the aiming problems

I have 50-60m/s and live stateside and still see the problem.

I have very good ping and the hit detection problem is not just lag shield as Chief seems to think it is.

It affects people differently and not just based on ping.

I'm aware, I am just telling Chief that this isn't a ping/location problem.

The thing is alot of people dont realize just how bad it is because in the heat of battle you never know what hits and doesnt cause you are to busy trying not to get killed and killing people. When i started recording myself and rewatching a few matches i played then you really start to notice just how bad it is.

The truth is its very bad, some games i play in my AC20 hunch ill blow 2 tons of ammo on clean hits that just dont do any damage.

It is still a serverside issue nevertheless, client hit detection would fix it

So 1 of 3 things is going on w/chief 117 here. He's trolling, he hasn't actually experienced the issue so doesn't know what he's talking about. Or he just doesn't notice when he does experience the issue.

The collision thing just makes it worse than it already is. The lead with lasers is different for every target. It is a matter of finding it. Consistency is desired. No lead on lasers!

Exactly, no mech travels faster than the speed of light so lasers should be point and click damage.

it is still a serverside problem, we had the same exact problem in RO2 until they gave us client hit detection, sure we have a few cheaters every now and then but the overall experience is undoubtedly superior

But the problem is not with the lasers !

Lasers are the best example to show the issue, instant travel means if you point at something and shoot with lasers you should hit. Currently that's not always the case. Lasers remove user error like bullet drop/travel time, missile mechanics etc..
