What are you considering spam?

Friendly chatter back n forth?

Repeated words and literal spamming / flooding the chat box?

Advertising recruitment?

Just wondering... I am not agreeing or disagreeing but before the start of every game I type "GL GH from Hells Black Aces! www.HellsBlackAces.com We are Recruiting!"

We've picked up some really good players that way. I would hardly call it spamming and maybe 1% have found it offensive, but most often we get some sort of reply like "GL GH from Team ABC!" and so forth. A very rare occasion someone says "%^&% YOU! Nobody is interested!!" or something along those lines.

Mentioning your Guild's website is fine, just don't repeat is several times. Guilds are benificial to the MechWarrior gaming fanbase and the franchise, in total, as they expand the playerbase ad serve as community hubs. They also don't sell products. You can say "Good Fighting, everyone, from the 34th Lightning Lanciers... visit us at www.34thlance.org if you're interested in joining." But you can't spam the webaddress over and over, or keep bumping your guild repeatedly in a match.

Advertising a website that sell products is absolutely not permitted, as that is a form of Commercial Advertising. You can't say "Good Fighting, from the 34th Lightning Lanciers, and be sure to visit www.34thlance.com to buy some affordable video cards."

If I may quote the list of banned activities in the Code of Conduct.

This category includes advertisement of:
  • Any non-beneficial, non-Piranha Games Inc. related businesses, organizations, or websites
If you see someone advertising in-match, the please send an email to support@mwomercs.com with their player name, what they said, the time/date of the match, the map, and include a screenshot of the text chat if possible (as that always helps).
