As for all you new guys, you still have to post an application that needs to be okayed by myself and Gozer. No worries, we're both understandable and reasonable... You'll find all our quirks and demands on one of the first pages. If there's any issues or questions feel free to PM Gozer or me, (I'll be online freqently all weekend.)

Callsign: Vulpes
Age: Unknown, claims to be 24.
Current Mech: Clint-2-3t, with some minor damage to the armor. It has been given a light tan coloration over the majority of the mech, with a custom emblem with the image of a fox on it on the left shoulder. He refers to "her" as Taila.
House Affiliation: Apparently ex-Free Worlds' League
Military History: Private training, Scout in 4th succession war.
Physical Description: Appears to be in his mid 20's, Often seen wearing brightly colored clothing, he is 6'2" tall. He has lightly tanned skin, and a scar in the middle of his right hand.
Open Background: Was a scout for the Free Wold's League during the Fourth Succession war, and after the war he paid his way to Solaris. And he went to Solaris out of pure boredom. He owns his Clint, and he tells anyone who asks him about it that his Clint was handed down to him by his father, and he had been piloting it since he was a child. He is quite adept in using his 'mech, and is well known for his abilities at both long and short range combat.
He is a decently good singer, and his favorite drink is blackberry wine.
He is eccentric, generally intelligent, and usually kind, but in battle he is sadistic to an extent, and also becomes bored easily.
He is also at least moderately wealthy.
He prefers to go by his callsign rather than his name.
Deep Background: He lies about his age and origin, as well as how he got his mech. The scar on his right hand was from him stabbing himself there on a dare when he was a teenager. He also has other secrets beyond this, though he is known for being an exceptional pilot in his Clint by every lance he has worked with. He is also bisexual, which caused conflict in one lance he was in at one time.
(edited and added on a bit.)

Callsign: Firestorm
Date of Birth/Age: 29 years old (18th June 3002)
Current Mech: Modified ENF-4R Enforcer. Replaces the AC/10 and ammo with Johnston Parti-Cannon PPC and 6 heat sinks.
House Affiliation: House Davion
Military History:
3022 - Graduated from Point Barrow Military Academy, assigned to 1st New Ivaarsen Chasseurs
3026 - Placed in command of Lion Lance, 18th Company, 2nd Battalion
3028 - Participated in Operation: Rat during the opening stages of the Fourth Succession War, fighting on the Capellan worlds of New Hessen, Alrescha, Yangtze and Hamal
3029 - Honourably discharged from 1st New Ivaarsen Chasseurs, began working as a freelance mercenary
3031- Arrived on Solaris 7
Physical Description: Tall, with a hawkish face and prominent nose. His brown hair is prematurely greying. Out of the ‘mech, he wears a worn, slate grey suit in a style that was fashionable on New Avalon around the turn of the millenium.
Open Background: Bertie is the second son of a New Ivaarsen architect. Though generally a compassionate man, he has a quick temper and a tendency to overreact, a trait that almost got him washed out of basic training after he broke another cadet’s arm during an exercise after a disagreement.
On joining the Chasseurs, he met Kathleen Peters, an admin with the unit. After a year of courting, they married, and had their daughter, Heather, two years later.
During the closing stages of the battle on Alrescha, Kathleen was killed in a Death Commando attack on the unit’s HQ. Despite an offer of leave on compassionate grounds, Bertie continued to fight with the Chasseurs throughout Operation: Rat, wanting to get some vengeance. At the end of the Op, however, he found that his thirst for revenge against the Capellans had cooled, and the unit was now an unpleasant reminder of his wife. He was discharged and began working freelance mercenary jobs.
By 3031, he had decided that the merc life couldn’t give him the kind of safety he needed to provide his six year old daughter. Solaris VII beckoned, where she could attend a school like normal kids and he didn’t have to worry about someone targeting her dropship on a mission. With any luck, he could also find a stable to provide him with some tech support; he’d been maintaining his own machine since leaving the Chasseurs.
Deep Background: Bertie’s main concern about his daughter’s safety comes from one mission in particular. A 4-man raid on behalf of Johnston Industries went as planned, but the company stiffed them on the payment, as well as promised evac. Once they managed to escape, the four mercs, including Bertie, raided Johnston in return, taking payment in the form of components. After the loss of his Enforcer’s AC/10 in the fight against Johnston Industries, Bertie replaced it with heat sinks and a PPC stolen from the company. He still has a small stolen cache of lasers, armour and other components, which he occasionally sells part of to keep himself financial.
What he doesn’t yet know is that two of the other mercs are now dead, assassinated on behalf of Johnston Industries.

House Affiliation: FWL/House Marik
Military History:
Unexperienced directly-
- Father was in the military
- Personal Police Work
After years of 'roughing it,' and later joining the police force, Holmes has had a meticulous need to train his body in order to combat the most vicious underworld criminals. Somewhat short, though not unreasonably so, his has found it necessary to carry himself with back straight else he lose much of the intimidation an officer might need. Hishands are rough, those of a working man. Reflexively his face is gruff though shaven. Some scarring covers what might be an otherwise uninteresting visage.
His skin is light and his eyes a dark green.
Open Background:
Story below, summary:

Mother: Executive aide, an agricultural organization, Nova Roma
History:
- Nova Roma [Born]
- Marik [School/Work]
- New Hope [Work]
- Solaris [Freelance]

Police Detective [Angell II, New Hope]
----------------------------
"Holmes, you take care of your mother now." Hard brown eyes stared down, struggling to remain dry. Fingers tightened around the 7-year-old boy's shoulders as his father sighed, head dropping down. The world seemed silent and timeless, though Holmes could barely register the stampeding steps in the hallway outside their room. The metal door, silver and shining with a new polish, masked reality. Although he knew it could not happen, the boy simply wished nothing would change. He leaned in and wrapped his arms around his father's neck, hugging him tight. Nearby his mother sobbed.
"You'll be a good, strong man Holmes." He winked and pushed the boy away as he turned on his heels and headed to the door. With a short nod back to the two, he opened the door. Cries, explosions, the whir of a flight. And with that, father Nets was gone, the door sliding shut leaving only a quiet murmur of noise outside.
But Holmes did not cry, for he was proud. His father, the MechWarrior, defending Nova Roma against a battalion of unknown foes. Engines shouted to life below him as the JumpShip screamed upwards... out of the atmosphere... into a new life.
----------------------------
Although he had been on the force only since 3026, when he had turned eighteen, Holmes Nets had risen quickly through the policing ranks. After escaping from Nova Roma to Marik, he had finished schooling and been accepted into an early-recruit program at the local police academy on Marik. It was a difficult decision to make- his mother was returning to Nova Roma and to accept the position was to leave her. But, with her reassurance ("I'll be fine alone, Holmes") he graciously entered the academy.
A year later, he was on Angell II, dealing with the rough streets and discontented lower class. It was his integrity that eventually dealt him the unfortunate send-off to New Hope. Promotion to investigative ranks occurred after only 2 years, and Detective Nets found himself often at odds with Angell's corrupt upper class. After the arrest and subsequent (and questionable) forgiveness of a political figure on the planet, Nets was sent to New Hope.
Here, Nets struggled against constant bereavement- the force was paid entirely by the principle city's mayor. Police work was shabby at best and truth was a fallacy.
Eventually, frustration and exhaustion reeled and Nets parted ways from the city. His time away from the force was intolerable. Still on New Hope, former coworkers often would attempt to pin crime on their rival Nets. Eventually, Nets could handle it no longer and, knowing how his skill sets could be useful, boarded the first ship to Solaris to look for mercenary work.
Deep Background:
Holmes' father, Daniel Nets, was a Senior Grade Lieutenant in the FWL army, tasked with aiding in the defense of Nova Roma. A small agricultural world, Nets was one of the highest officers on the world when Nova Roma was attacked. Fearing for his family's safety, he sent them off-planet as soon as the mercenary force arrived in 3014. Although he and his lance were defeated, he survived the onslaught and gained the respect of the Wolf's Dragoons, who, after minor losses on the planet, needed to refill some of their ranks. Elder Nets, although weighted down with betrayal, agreed to join in with the mercenaries.
Although appearing strong, forward and confident, Holmes struggles against his past. He 'knows' his father is dead, and was forced to abandon his mother as she returned to Nova Roma, himself entering the police academy. Often attempting to balance this inner struggle (which he does not actually recognize), Nets can act cocky and overconfident. He also has a tendency to leap before thinking.
Such an attitude is the reality of his leaving New Hope. An 'investigation' by the police force saw a group of corrupt officers raid Holmes' off-city home. The allegations were ridiculous, but the agents moved in for the arrest. Enraged, Holmes fought back and a firefight soon raged. Holmes survived with only minor scratches- but the police bodies that littered his home would not bode well. After doing his best to cover and delay, he rode to the nearest JumpShip to Solaris- a place he knew he would be safe, for at least some time- and was off.
