Yeah we've had stuff like that in our Dark Heresy RP. It's set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, my character is essentially armed with an anti aircraft gun, a 20mm autocannon. Spent four turns lacing into a charging mob of gangers with no armour, and despite rolling really well to hit, getting in 13 hits, it took all four turns for me to do more than wound one.
I was not a happy man.
The amount of times I've ended up in the criticals from something arbitrarily random and underpowered that suddenly decides to take a level in badass is unreal xD
And the party wonders why I've slowly been turning my character into an armoured juggernaut.

But I digress. I probably won't have time to post until Friday night, maybe Saturday, do you mind waiting that long?

EDIT: The gun fires on semi auto, firing 6 shots, I can hit with a max of 4 so getting 13 out of the 24 is pretty decent shooting, even though it doesn't seem like much xD

Yeah I'm cool waiting that long. My guy still hasn't registered for a fight, and I figure he'll have atleast a week in game to fight, during which he'll be hitting the proving grounds everyday, and doing research on his opponet.

Sounds good, I'll meet you at one of the ones closer to the end of the week before his match.

That's good because I've picked his opponent's mech as a Panther. And considering Demarkus knows next to nothing about mechs from the Combine. And considering that your a Panter pilot....

Aw, c'mon, they're both light mechs, surely they handle similar, right? Right? We could paint the Taysider with the outline of a Panther, just to make it more realistic! :P

I've grown used to hunting down my own post becuase I'm usually the only Capellan Fan-boy.

Regarding Erin wanting to make a champion and have him killed, I dug this up from the first page:

Kevin was getting dressed in the bedroom while Erin, already dressed, began to explain what the LIC had in mind for Solaris 7. "So you know the marriage between Melissa and Hanse? Well their child will control both Houses, and we must make sure House Steiner comes out the stronger House and has the most to gain. You are to set up a multi-House Solaris Stable and recruit from every House. Build up a champion and have him killed, it doesnt matter what House they come from but in the end, they have to die. We must bring the Kapteyn Accords into another war, they cannot survive another."

My reading was that, once they've got a guy with some popular support, LOKI have him assassinated, and blame it on one of the Kapteyn Accords states if they were Davion/Steiner, and on House Davion if they were Liao/Kurita/Marik. A war of vengeance ensues, House Davion bears the brunt between the F-C states, the other three houses are severely weakened by a war so soon after the 4th Succession War, House Steiner profits.

The Katpeyn Accords were signed between the Capellan Confederation, the Draconis Combine and the Free Worlds League in 3022 after the Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth signed their agreement to merge and form the Federated Commonwealth.

http://www.sarna.net...Kapteyn_Accords

The short version is that its a (somewhat shaky) non-aggression and mutual support pact between the three great houses. With need to protect themselves from each other, they could focus more on the FedCom. It never really worked well, though did result in several technology exchanges. A particular failure during the 4th Succession War was that the FWL's entire "mutual support" for the Capellan Confederation was a supply crate and a derisive note.

Ah awesome. Love the Marik supply package of useless parts and an insulting note. You never really hear much about the FWL.

Still here, chaps! In my defence, I've been offline since thursday.

If Gozer is ok with it, I'm going to write a scene for Karel and Joe.

Other than the occasional civil war, no, not much. Out of all of the 'Great Houses' I know the least about them.. Though the Not so Real Thomas Marik kind of gets their s**t together... even if only for a little while.

Better PM him soon. That workoholic should be getting up and getting ready to go work about now...

How much would a good wage be in C-Bills for assisting in repairing a mech, i have no clue, Sarna says its 1 C Bill to about 9 US dollars but as in Rp's drinks ive seen drinks go for 20 C-Bills im doubt were following that, just put a vague wage in RP now

According to MekHQ (which I think is quoting the Strategic Ops BT book), assistant techs get paid 192 c-bills a month. They've got some qualifications, though, so its not exactly minimum wage. A rank and file house MechWarrior, by comparison, gets 900 a month, though.

I'm using the wage that was in the old MW 2nd edition which was $5 US = 1 Cbill. Don't get me trying to figure out how much H-bills it takes to equal a Cbill.

I think in the old mercenaries book it was 750 every two weeks. It was the same wage as a reg mechwarrior. Though experience swings that wage either up or down.

Not yet. Hopefully Kevin shows up or somebody pulls some FIAT out of their butt and I will be. That or I can always start 'Warlock Stables" :)
