Sounds like you need another cup of coffee.

12 mechs just seems really low. I was thinking more of 16 to 20 mechs at start. There are hundreds of mechs out there and the clans are supposed to be invading in about a year or so.

If we only get 12 mechs at launch that's fine, because that's 12 chassis. I'd hope to see 2 or 3 variants of each chassis, & then there's the mech-lab. The actual number of different designs you could field or face is far greater than 12 mechs.

I would love to see ALL mechs from 2750-3025 TROs including the Mackie even if it is 2439. Then 3050-3085 as the time line progresses.
But that would take more time money Ect. and a good amount of them may fall to disuse due to lack of popularity. But I would be happy if they only had 4 one from each weight class.

Don't forget that there are variants to the mech. If there are 2 each, you are already looking at 24 "mechs".

They are also adding mechs post launch so its not a fixed 12 number. And yes, once the clans come in, you are definitely seeing more than 12 mechs.

Yes it's not 'x' amount of 'Mechs, it's x (times) variants. That's... a lot more work than you might think.

I'm not worried.... Atlas AS7-D all the way. the only mechs that i could ever want after that is the, Atlas II (not the IIC) Highlander IIC, Hollander 2, and the Raven.

Hand Crafted Quality. I don't want Reskinned Chassis (See MW4 + MekPaks) i want a new mech, where the mech is though of in the design process much as a real mech maker would make it.

This game http://riseofflight.com/en/store started with 6 planes.

Over three years they've produced 20 more. High quaility, high fidelty. I think PGI has Embraced it.

A mech I would LOVE to see is the Battlemaster(85 tons) Mostly because I like the way it looks. Always have ever since I plaied battletech the frist time on table top 20+ years ago. Its not one of the unseen, It's just a rare mech. Mostly because the unique all "glass" cockpit wasn't glass but was diamond and the techniques were lost. So I guess the Battlemaster is now concidered Lost Tech. It wasn't when I started playing, there was no lost tech or even clans for that matter in the cannon yet. ( I started playing early in life)

Why only ....

Geez. This game developer stuff is EASY!

I'm pretty sure you get the gist . I'm sure they'd love to start out with all of the 3025 Mechs . But silly little things like time and manpower and reality get in the way :)

Cheers.

3 announced initially + (1 per month x 9 months) = 12

There will be more than this because a mechwarrior game is never going to come out with only 12 mechs its far too limiting.

12 is fine for a beta launch, it covers the weight classes and roles well, plus as a F2P game I think we can expect somewhat regular additions over time. Keep in mind Mechwarrior 2 only had 15 mechs, so who knows maybe by the time MWO is out of beta there could be more than that?

As long as we have to fight for them... sounds good to me.

Let the Devs work at their pace. Speed was never the friendly neighbor of Perfection.

Dude, at a mech a month, do you REALLY want to wait another year for release? Rip off the doors with 12 to start, content to be constantly added anyways given the F2P model.

They seem to be sticking to cannon to a certain extent wouldn't the the Flashman be more of a comstar or lost tech mech that would be limited or nonexistent to hour or mercs.

I'm still curious about the double-up in the 50 ton bracket if that's the case.

And definitely excited to hear more about those variants soon - will it be in the Mechlab discussion?

The FLS-8K would be pretty rare. The downgraded -7K remained in production during the succession wars.

Let's face it.

If we had Jenner and hunchback fights we still think it was awesome if the game play and mechanics are good.

If we receive 12 mechs that will be great. Over time they will release more, I'd expect every 3-6 months you'll get an update and wow 1-3 mechs appear. Start doing the math, if this F2P starts to print money for the devs as I hope it will I would expect them to pay the players that pay by introducing more tech and mechs to play with.

Don't worry I know there are going to be ways for everyone to get most mechs. I am willing to bet a few cost real dollars.

Not at first but at some point. The whole key to the F2P is to treat you like a would be crack addict. They will give us all a taste of the candy. Make sure we all get a good sweet tooth going. Then over time, remind us why they did this.

$$$$ and a Ferrari for all the devs.... :)

It's what I did anyway. :) It's nice.
