Hi people

I think that this will be a good question, is this game going to have an storyline based campaign like Vengeance or Mercs?

I liked those short vids and mission reviews before starting one hellride in a mech through enemy lines :)

short and massive informative answers are favored :)

greetings

Sorry, but we will not get any PvE at the start. Maybe they will be added later, but we will have to stick with killing equal opponents for the time being. :)

Yep, just PvP for now. There is the background canon/lore things going on in metagame, but you'll hear that as just news....

To complete the previous two answers, the devs have explained that this is something they're exploring. If they do, I hope its robust.

I belive in MWO Devs, when they create a campaign it' ll be awesome and huge. But i' am also sad to hear that there will be no campaign at the beginning. :)

Keep up the good work!

Make your own campaign? I.E. coordinate with several other units and plan to take a massive swath of territory~

What this guy said! You get to invade other states' territory and capture their planets! You get to run your own campaign!

ExCUSE me?! I take exception to that, thankyouverymuch!

...with my age, decrepit reflexes, failing eyesight and degrading faculties, there's no way any other player could be considered an "equal opponent" to me! Maybe if you take an average player, disable half the buttons on his joystick and turn the gamma way down on his monitor... :P

But yeah, MechWarrior ONLINE is going to be a persistent-world PvP game - working in any sort of PvE story would be considerable amount of work to ADD to the issues of getting the game itself working. I, too, hope that PGI can manage to take the time to work on that a some point down the road well after launch once things aren't quite so hectic, but I'm not going to give you false hopes of anything like that when the game is launched...

Well, if you saw the age charts of the community, if you aren't near 90, you should find a bit equal opponent. :P

Oh, that poor, poor person, whoever they are...my utmost sympathies go out to them... :)

(of course, now that you bring it up, it's kinda heartening to realize that there probably ARE other people out there who suffer as much as me. ;^)

I find it hard to believe that the devs will just throw you to the wolves right out of the box. There has to be a way to learn the ropes so to speak, I'm sure there will be alot of players that have never played this type of MMO, and to be put into a machine with no real ideal what you're doing is just....well stupid.
I agree there has to be some kind of training missions where one can learn, having knowledge of the BT/MW lore will not make you a pilot, this sort of thing has to be learned. Putting someone out there against other players with no idea what each weapon does or the different types of mech is asking for the game to fail. Of course there will be the game base of players like myself that will play mainly because of the "lore" and have played the others games in the BT/MW universe.
Let's face it guys, none of us enjoy playing a game where we get our hats handed to us without even knowing what we could have done to prevent it.

What if it's a young whipper snapper (that's of legal drinking age) who has had a decent amount of alcohol? Would they be equal then?

You're still their equal, sheer experience behind the helm will give you an edge most youngin's can't have.

Old age and treachery will beat youth and skill.

Kerensky knows there's enough of the former to make a fight of it.

Welcome to Solaris! Now, let me show you the sky!

Every last one of us (Ok, with the exception of the beta testers) will be a newbie when the game is released. Just saying.
