I don't know if that helps, but here goes some stock configurations I've used:

Atlas AS7-K:
10012,18,94,28,64,20,64,20,68,68,82,82,204,103,101,101,911,911,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,307,103,103,103,103,103,103,102,103,103,206,206,103,103,103,401,103,103,103,103,903,903,913,102,204,103,101,101,701,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,101,101,101,101,101,101,103,103,103,103,0000,a1,b1,c1,d4,e2,f2,g0,h0,i0,j0,k0,l0,2300

Awesome AWS-8R:
80011,18,60,38,48,20,48,20,48,48,66,66,203,103,101,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,402,103,103,101,101,101,101,101,101,103,103,103,201,903,903,402,103,103,101,101,101,101,101,101,103,103,103,101,101,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,101,101,101,101,103,103,103,103,103,103,0000,a1,b3,c3,d2,e0,f0,g0,h0,i0,j0,k0,l0,1240

For those that don't know what I'm talking about: just select the right Mech and variant and past these numbers in the "Paste" box (down on the right) and then click "Load Temp". There, you loaded the stock Mech.

3rd world, feel free to edit this into your first post, if you find it useful.

Many many thanks for putting this together. I find the most useful thing about this Excel sheet (and there are MANY useful things about it) is the fact that I can load Mech 1, then load Mech 2, then Mech 1 again, then 2 again, and so on. This lets me compare two loadouts side by side and review all the tradeoffs, which is not easy to do without the spreadsheet. I have a loadout I really love, and because we all like to tinker, I keep wanting to improve it. Every time I think I've made an improvement, I switch back and forth between the new version and my original and the spreadsheet makes it real easy to see where the tradeoffs are. Thanks again!

trying to figure this thing out. :) not too hard. i put my current mech into the speadsheet, and i get 39.97 tons when MWO says 40 tons. here is the data if it helps. it is a CDA-3C, since the energey is in the wrong side (LT vs RT) i just put it in the wrong spot for now.

let me know if i can help otherwise.

50010,18,64,0,48,0,48,0,32,32,47,47,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,403,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,103,xyzw,a0,b0,c0,d0,e0,f0,g0,h0,i0,j0,k0,l0,2255

EDIT: it also seems that selecting ferro fibrous does not add the 14 critical slots into the 'diagram'? i.e. it does not seem to place the crits? does that have to be done manually (opposite MWO, it does this for you?)?

Selecting Endo or FF does not actually "place" those crits on the mech. Instead, to save time, it simply reduces the number of crit spots remaining, displayed right in the mech layout. If you equip enough items so that your crits remaining drops below zero, your whole mech turns red to indicate that it is invalid and you need to free up some space.

How do you export the string for a configuration? The "copy current" button doesn't seem to do anything.

After hitting copy current the string is copied, but for some weird reason you can't paste it in excel (or even in notepad). I found out you can actually paste it in MS Word, and then copy it again (from word) and paste it again wherever you want.

3rdworld: is this a bug or expected?

Weird, I didn't think to try Word but yes it doesn't paste in Excel or Notepad++ either for me.

AC-10 Heat 2,5 -> should be 3
AC-5 CoolDown 2 -> should be 1,7
UAC-5 CoolDown 1,5 -> should be 1,1
AC-2 Cooldown 1 -> should be 0,5

Just a note, for me the various 'clear', 'save', and 'load' buttons aren't working on this computer. It's excel 2011 version 14.1.0 on a mac running OSX 10.6, for reference. I don't know if this is the problem, but all three sheets are listed as 'protected', if that matters.

Other than that, this is very useful. Now I get to waste time play around with builds even when I'm not at home!

This is a fantastic tool for any self-respecting mechwarrior who is serious about his mechwarrioring, thank you very much for this.

Two remarks:

1) As previously mentioned, it would be nice if the HS/DHS/EHS values weren't hard-coded, but modifiable through user input.

2) Providing that your DHS/EHS are at 1.4 and 2.0 respectively, there might be something wrong with LB 10-X values, because all other things being equal, my Dragon comes out with a lower heat efficiency in the tool than it does in the game (and seeing how people've posted about AC values changes, LBX might have gotten a change as well).

Cheers and once again — much appreciated!

Just a little heads up.

While I was working on 1.72, I had 2 versions. One that was using more VBA to place the FF/ES slots and another that was using the current method. As you can guess I spent more time working on the VBA version, and that is why you are seeing so many bugs with 1.72 (I apologize about them, and I am not sure how many came to life but they did).

I am currently swamped at work and not having a ton of time to work on this, but that should end on the 15th. I have a new version in the works where these things are resolved, but you're just going to need to bear with me for a couple of days.

Thanks.

When you load it it will ask to enable content, accept it.

I'm also having the save/load problem, and it's not asking me to enable content on loading. It *does* ask me if I want to enable macros, but not anything including the word 'content'. I'm guessing this might be a difference between this computer's mac version of excel and the windows version. And just to be clear, the save/load still doesn't work even when I enable macros on loading.

Also, I think there might be a bug with the heat calculations. I just loaded up a centurion-D variant with 2 SRM6 (1 HPS each), 2 MLAS (1 HPS each), and an AC2 (listed as 1 HPS here due to incorrect RoF), for a total of 5 HPS. This mech has an XL300 with a total of 10 built-in DHS, which *should* grant me heat dissipation of 2 HPS and a capacity of 50. Thus, with a net of 3 HPS I ought to have a TTOH of 16.666 seconds, but the spreadsheet says I'll overheat in 9.05s instead.

And it's not a bug with DHS, either, because even if I drop to SHS for a dissipation rate of 1.0 HPS and a capacity of 40, my TTOH ought to be 10s but is listed as 8.16.

Save/Load

A quick search online, is showing that Mac does not support VBA (unless you have office 2011). If you do not have 2011, than the macros will not work.

HS

Known issue. It was set to 1.4 to mimic what they said the DHS would be. Next version will correct this. The formula for MWO heat efficiency was discovered in CB, but it seems to have changed. It will be corrected as soon as the method to calculate it is discovered.

Thanks.

I've been in the habbit of saving various versions as seperate spreadsheets rather than use save/load. It helps me compare to builds side-by-side for evaluation.
