Yes. This a thousand times this! Base cap has devolved into death match. I want some real objectives to shoot for! We'll still rain death and destruction with Missiles but it would be grand for it to have a purpose besides K/D bragging rights between team mates.

Honestly, chances are even the founders are not pre-mades. The people who have been playing the game for a while do have the home field advantage. We know the lay of the land, and common tactics and so can move as a team even without proper comms. As a matter of fact I have found times in TS where it distracted from our coordination because we were jawjacking about something when the enemy pounced.

That being said, you need to assume there is a learning curve. Other people are tackling the same problems as you, and being successful. I would recommend using this as a challenge to figure out what works, and implementing it. There are plenty of back routs, covered passes, and other ways to get in behind the lines and chew up LRMs.

I recommend jumping on TS and hanging out with the folks there, if only for a little bit. If clans or guilds or whatever are not for you, fine, but there are plenty of people who will bring you in for a drop or two, and this experience can give you vast amounts of experience very quickly.

I do well even when I pug, not because I am "better" or my mech is "better" (I am still known for running around in my first love, a stock K2) but because I have learned to read other players and know who to stick with, when to commit to a fight, and when to seek cover.

I know it seems like everything is 100% LRMS right now, and this happened after the last reset too. Don't worry, soon enough people will earn their money, and the argument will be about Gausscats again :D

I'm a closed beta player (but not a founder) and 100% pugger, and tbh i find there's nothing wrong with the trial mechs. Since open beta started i've been playing mostly in an Awesome and just bought my Catapult-K2 today :D

Today has been the best experience i've had in the whole time playing MWO. There's been lots of great battles, many close results instead of the usual 8-0, and i just realised why. There have been very few Jenners (so not much "you can't shoot me...laaaaag") and no StreakCats! Although i suppose things will return to normal soon :)

If only the game would stay this great...

Every match I type the following:

"Guys don't charge off towards their base or the LRM's will fry you"

By the time I have typed it the sky is full of shiney little sparkles as 100 ton of LRM missiles zero in on their target.

We all know Missile boats are out there, we all know they need you pretty much in the open so my advice is DON'T CHARGE OUT INTO THE OPEN!
