STOP using LRMs at point blank range, it is killing me, all of you who do this just stop now and never do that again.

LRM = LONG Range Missiles

Your missiles just go right through the target at close range, no damage done and it adds to your heat total. Firing LRMs at close range is stupid so stop it now.

Maybe someday soon they'll add actual descriptions to the weaponry. Tooltips that include damage, heat and range information that might be good for a palyer to know. Until then, it is IMPOSSIBLE for a new player to know that it doesn't work to fire missiles at under 180m. You see the missiles fire and hit, and unless oyu pay close attention it's obvious they arent very effective, but it is not obvious they do *nothing*.

Ah, rage against the noobs :wacko:

They should just lose lock on close range, like in previous mw games. Hopefully they will by launch.

The people who need to know this are those who never read the forums

It's not like some people don't know about the min range of LRMs.
Some pilots got good reflexes from old MW4 times :wacko:

This is a good point. It took me ages to work out that there was a minimum range, and when I asked in-game all I got was a variety of unhelpful replies. The same is true about a variety of other weapons and systems. This information is critical for people to make informed decisions when choosing a loadout, yet it isn't available! How did this seem like a good idea to anyone?!?

As long as they keep firing their SRMs and SSRMs at me while I am at 271m+ I am happy.

The missiles bouncing off without exploding isn't obvious enough?

See, this is the sort of thing I'm talking about. Until that comment, I didn't know that 270m was the cutoff for any damage from those weapons - I thought they carried on past it but did an ever-decreasing amount until they reached twice their maximum. It would really help if this information was in the game, even through a sort of "Mechpedia" type codex.
