Just to corroborate this isn't just an attempt at subtle bragging. I've had the same experience. In an earlier thread (one long gone I think) I recorded my progress over 10-15 games of pugging. I lost once. They were all on PUG teams against other PUGs or premades.

Actually I would turn off my Premium Account until they put Teams and Matchmaking back in. I defiantly wouldn't give PGI another dime if they take teaming out and would wait until its re-implemented and checked it out before I ever considered giving them any more money. I would probably play MWO a lot less as well as all Solo queue. I didn't give PGI $120 bucks as an investment to play a team based title Solo.
You can only carry terribads so far, and while I do agree the Solo Only queue would help the title in the short run, i think it will also harm the title in the long run. PGI is going to have to decide which devil its going to deal with. Those of us who have given money already and have a higher propensity to spend money with PGI, or to those who are largely freemium players who are a much larger base of players but have a significantly lower propensity to spend money with PGI.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to come out sounding like that
The point I was trying to make is that if your team of eight people can't kill even one enemy mech ... the problem isn't the other team.
If just two people on a PUG team would act in concert, there would be few 0-8 PUG rolls, regardless if the enemy team was a "pre-made" or just another PUG (which is normally the case).
Three people acting in concert? They might even kill two enemy mechs before departing this mortal coil.

To late, so many games out there most people dont do 2nd chances, all they had to do was make sure the newbs had some fun for their first (10-20?) matches ... hell if MM just looked at total games played until you hit say 30 and only put people with < 30 games together that would have worked. Epic oversight.

as soon as i went back to my old faithful builds the game got waaay better again. getting stomped by premades every now and then didnt feel so bad anymore because i was doing damage and getting kills every game.
honestly new players have to be nurtured a bit. i have been getting a lot of satisfaction giving tips to new players and when a group of pugs gets some basic tactics going this game really shines. probably only one out of four games someone will **** up and really give some advice not just 'stay together' .give grid references, tell scouts to not engage directly just scout and wait for backup, focus fire, things like that. i think it would be nice for veteran players to get in there and help new people a bit more.

This has to be fixed asap. It can't wait. Ppl are treating Open Beta like a Demo, instead of beta testing. First impression matters. You'll have to work 10x as hard to make up for it later, for those who give you another chance. Most won't.
Just disable teaming completely until matchmaking can be implemented properly. Premade players won't just leave, unlike puggers who are checking out the game. They'll bid their time in beta until teaming is implemented again.
Honestly this is what we have been trying to tell PGI all along. The Industry has made it so that the definition of Open Beta is the Demo or try before you buy period just prior to launch, not an actual developmental beta.
PGI should have probably used a different term, maybe Public Beta which should mean the same thing but doesn't in the eyes of the gaming community. Since they didn't use that term, they should be hammering it into new players that this game is still in a developmental beta cycle so they know what they are getting into.
What they should do is include a Billboard type screen that pops up as soon as you long in that in big bold letters say,
"WELCOME TO MWO OPEN BETA. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY STILL IN A DEVELOPMENTAL CYCLE WITH THE GAME, AND AS SUCH CONTENT AND FEATURES ARE NOT FULLY IMPLEMENTED AND YOU SHOULD EXPECT CONSTANT CHANGES AND UPDATES. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT OPEN BETA IS FULLY REPRESENTATIVE OF OUR PLANS FOR THE FINAL FINISHED AND RELEASED PRODUCT SO PLEASE FEEL WELCOME AND THANKS FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN OUR BETA TESTING PROCESS."
This way at least, people know what to expect and will lead to alot less frustration and disappointment.
Honestly I have to admit I am worried because yesterday the view count on the tutorial video was only like 305 where I would normally have expected that number to be in the thousands due to new players joining and trying to figure out the game.

Ever stop to think people dont wish to play like you do.
How many times are you going to try and force your playstyle down someones throats.
Solo players are a fact in MMOs. It has been for a long time
The successful games are friendly to solo players.
The games that do not fail.
When the solo players jump ship, the numbers go down, the game fails , and you can kiss another game goodbye
I think you severely underestimate how many solo players there are. Without them you wouldn't have a game to play in
When are YOU going to stop trying to ram YOUR style of play down peoples throats?
This is not, never has been promoted as, a FPS, solo hero MMO. It has ALWAYS been promoted as a Team/Role Warfare tactical Sim. Just because you can't get THAT idea through your head, and a vocal minority of pissants who will only be happy when this turns into CoD with Stompy Robots, does not mean that the Devs, who were very transparent with their goal, nor the players who signed up to play that TEAM VERSUS TEAM game, should have to cater to your whims. ESPECIALLY since the majority of those who seem to whine loudest about PUG/PreMade have never , and probably will never, no matter how much the Devs bend to them, pay a single red cent to support the game.
It's a Free to Play TEAM game. Not a Free to Tyrannically Force Your Way Of Playing onto a Game never meant to be what you seem to want Game.

I admit to hearing this on TS as well. "Oh man, that must have been another premade, they were really coordinated."
Usually not as an excuse necessarily, just an offhand comment after a loss, but it makes me chuckle.

I said fighting a premade is 8-0, not pugvspug. With pug vs pug the winning team will actually take a few deaths.

Very true, this also goes with "Sometimes a company should actually listen to their playerbase"(no matter how small or 'fatigued' you may think they are) and maybe take some of that gaming experience to heart.
To clear this up, closed beta players weren't fatigued by anything more than XP, CBill wipes. They were concerned more with the utter incomplete state of the game. The original pushback served only to prevent open players from seeing exactly how borked the game was at that state.
Considering the slug like pace some of the patches seem to be released at...the pushback should have had us into November before Open if they were concerned with a playable game.
Ego up all you like, nothing will change the fact that this game needs open f2p guys more than premades to make money. Right now, that's not doing so well. I still have 3 hardcore BT fan friends who won't touch it after seeing it in action on mine.
The biggest quote so far: "That's it? After all these years...that's all they come up with for us? This terrible WoT clone?" - I'm paraphrasing the word terrible there...
