Wow... that's all I have to say... a month ago I was enjoying this now it's dropped to "Load up on LRMs and just stand at opposite sides for as long as possible", in the current game it's an absolutely valid tactic but it gets real boring, real fast to see this. Not sure what changed in the last month in regards to LRM's, I'm guessing they got a buff to make them popular but urgh... not fun to play against constantly

Edit.. yeah just jumped into a match, catapults with multiple LRM launchers all just stacked up next to the base... even my wee Jenner with AMS can't dodge all those rocket.. pah

They're nowhere nearly as beefy as cata, low on ammo, noobs don't know how to use them properly, pugs have no spotters, and missiles either hit wall or lose lock midway.

When you get bombed back to the stone age from accross the map, it's the premade jenner/cata tag teams, not the trial pugs.

Well it needs some time before even the last of the people understand LRMs are massivily OP.

Just played 2x20 LRM + 2x15 LRM Awesome with DHS in both arms short before close beta ends. 70 rockets coming out every 4.5 seconds, each rocket doing 2(!) damage and people still complain this is OP.

Even half of the rockets going down via ASM or just miss! It still so much devestation to everything.

And now guess what happens when I use this in our premade 8 men...

i spend most of my time in LRM mechs and they're just about useless if you dont have a good scout. so if you dont like them stay in cover or target the scouts, would be my advice

That's why you use them in premades. LRMs are what made pug-stomping what they are today.

LRM - killer of noobs, bane of pugs... :D

LRMs are very easy to avoid in most cases, however in the current build of the game they are ridiculously over powered.

This is ONLY because of the lag shield+ no collisions making TAGing lights nigh invincible.

If a premade comes with LRMs and 2 TAG jenners its gg no question. Unless they end up against another premade.

One word. Terrain. Every map I can think of has areas that can be used to block missiles. If they are just standing on the other side of the map firing, seems you should have a few seconds to find cover. Sucker em out, let em shoot, get cover, then stomp on some weaponless mech's.

Probably easier said than done, but it does seem like a little strategy could defeat this tactic. Probably why pugs get stomped.

A fix would be to just show everyone what mechs are in the match. See a bunch of cats and Jenners, time to hide till it's safe. This is a feature that is in World of Tanks, and MW should use it too. We know it's 8 vs. 8 and the names of all the players from the stat sheets, so just add the type of mech as well. Might even the odds a bit.

Give it a week for people to grind up the c-bills to spec out real high-speed brawlers again and LRMs will sharply drop in usefulness.

An Assault mech capable of running 85KPH and blasting 6MPLAS on cooldown with 1.51 Heat Efficiency can pretty much rip through a lance of LRM boats in no time flat.
