From here.

You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.

Does this mean if you die, then don't stay and spectate the rest of the match in full, you get less money?

Awesome we're going to be chained for the duration of the match. That's wonderful.

simply locking the trial mechs should have been sufficent, not that it matters a huge amount since with the team vs pug going on, half the time the full match will be done in 5 minutes or less.

Disconnecting or anything of the like (which happens reasonably frequently) will now result in a full repair bill (since the opposition will strip you regardless) and minimal/no reward at all.

If they are doing this, they should allow you to rejoin games you have disconnected from. Basically what it means is after you die you alt tab and play a different game or something which sounds quite boring/counter productive.

*edit*

I do approve of it though, dispite above, because it will take stress off the servers and we might DC less maybe

Frankly I've been saying since the beginning that the simple way to stop people from doing shoddy things to farm would be to lock them into the game until the match finishes. This is either a team game or a pug game. If it is focused on the team then whether or not you were part of one up front, you are part of one until conclusion. That means the end of the match, win lose or draw.

The reason why this is so unpalatable now is because people have spent months either trouncing all opposition, or just quitting out after death to give it another go. They could have saved countless hours by just making this change earlier. Then they wouldn't have needed to setup a system where your mech locks in-game, or figuring out what pays when, or trying to prevent farming.

It also means they need to &^%$ fix the stability issues, because a ton of the disconnects at this point are crashes. Most people know you don't get anything but a bill if you intentionally disconnect, especially when a heat or rush suicide is so easy and still pays.

Thankfully no, it does not. It means disconnecting prior to death will prevent end-mission payout. The current system where disconnecting after death has no effect will remain in-place.

Based off the wordin, all you get is whatever bonuses you would have gotten. Damage done, any spots you might have happened to get, that stuff. You don't get an end of mission payout at all, win or lose.

This effectively kills farmin, but also does in fact lock people in matches after they die if they want to make any money at all. It also has the lovely side effect that if you dc either to your own net issues or one of several issues with the game itself you now get a full repair bill and jack all money. Cheers to legitimate customers bein hurt by attempts to stop jerks from bein jerks!

This might not actually be THAT bad... after all, watching someone else play is a really good way to get better yourself. Silver Linings and all.

While I'm in full support of solving the suicided free credits issue.
Not sure that it would be a great solution (at least atm) I'm DC'ing 1/5 games if i average it out.
(though if they lock costs if you DC to the point where you DC then thats better).

IMO rewards for winning/losing should be lowered substantially and fully recovered by focusing on component destruction/salvage, and the more team focused aspects of the game. (So not on damage done and kills)

Edit: Though if that is the case, i'll stick to the trial mechs till the match making and DC issues are resolved.
Just means i'll have a nice lump of CBills when i do start playing properly

It's can also be so frustrating when you watch someone who could easily win, lose lol..
+ i don't mind choosing to watch a good game, but do you really want to be forced to watch PugStoms?
.

You can spectate freely all you like, it's a good way to learn how other people play.

However, as it's always been, you can disconnect after death and you won't lose anything. That's not changing at all.

Oh look, spectator sport. Now we get to watch the 2 afkers in either teams stay still for 15 minutes. Oh wait, I forgot ppl don't afk for credits. :D

Treating the symptom of the problem while ignoring its root will just cause more problems. Ditch trial mechs, make them useable, or just giving starter credits for noob's first real mech, and there will be fewer trial mechs suiciding to grind their way to a real mech.

Are you dead?
  • Rewards are dolled out as usual.
Are you alive?
  • Rewards are issued up to the moment you quit.
Post updated BTW.
