[MAP] Red Desert (Planet Mars)

Red Desert
Map Size: Very Large
Temperature: Very Cold
Weather Effects: Dust Storms
Key Features: Terraforming Stations

The developers should consider adding a map very similar to Mars. Everyone is fascinated with the Red Planet. The map would be very large; roughly four times the size of Caustic Valley. The map would have a red surface with a yellowish-brownish hue for the sky. No vegetation. The map would have mountains, vast flatlands, craters, and canyons. Potential weather effects would include dust storms, which would limit visibility on the battlefield. Multiple Terraforming Stations would be dispersed around the map. These installations would include the following: atmospheric processor, research complex, solar power array, satellite communication dishes, civilian vehicles, etc.

the said the next map is a desert, no indication of what kind of sky though.

I'd like one map that was clear though, is that too much to ask for.

like the old colony map, that was perfect

There is so much potential for different maps in this game. Battles raging across thousands of different planets should provide limitless possibilities for maps. I think a Mars map would be fantastic and a welcome new landscape after seeing the same four maps for the past couple hundred matches.

Yeah the current maps are pretty unimaginative. I really like the red planet idea btw. So many worlds they could make.

Skies with multiple moons. Alien sunsets with colors you don't see on earth. Strange rock formations or plant life.

Here is the Desert Map art concept. I have a feeling this will be the first conquest map and very large at that. At least I hope so anyways.

Furthermore I think collisions must be back in the game.

Man, I wish they'd just port over MWLL maps, or absorb the MWLL team into this.

I mean seriously, if that games got one thing going for it... it's the maps and gamemodes.

Absolutely! 100% agreement. This game's core gameplay, mechs and graphics with LL's maps and gamemodes would rule the world.

Furthermore I think collisions must be back in the game.

What Kaijin said. I hope they give it some vibrant colours and not the current washed out feel (similar shades of colour for the entire map).

i agree and could you imagine taking damage to your mech if you got pushed into or fell onto one of those rock outcrops? Those jagged rocks shouls do nice damage to a mech if you fall into them lol

The main problem i have with any of the maps we have now is they all feel too... Earth-like. The Battletech/MW universe has thousands of planets and while yes a lot of them would have to be Earth-like for humans to live on... there are many many that are not. Some dont have gravity at all and all the structures are domed. There are all the different Stars and colors that go with those stars that can really give a battlefield a different look. Id love to fight on a desert map or urban map where there is a blue star or even a duel star class system where you may see 2 different colored stars and the different colors give the atmosphere a very eery feel and look. And it really wouldn't hurt to have some maps that are very clear looking and easy on the eyes. Do we have to have some kind of fog or weather effect on EVERY map?

Love that idea of a vast mars colony map. I wish they'd also implement maps with real "bases" where your team first has to walk out of a hangar or off a stationary dropship.

I want to see a Red-Rock Desert like Utah.

(Utah's the best state in the US! Best place in the World! Seriously. Any of you ski?)
