I'm trying to reinstall right now. This time I'm running the installer as an administrator. I hope that helps things.

I reinstalled a few days ago and it didn't help. I'm having the same issues, now, as I did prior.

Alright, I ended up reinstalling the game. I did two things, which I'm not sure made a difference:

1) I ran the installer as an administrator.

2) I installed the game in C:\Program Files (x86)

That seemed to solve the black screen and CTD on startup.

add another, my .pak's are not corrupt, and it only happened after playing for a few days. then i fixed it with a clean install (CCleener to remove registry entries) then after 5 games it crashed again with this to greet me.

Captain Fearon of the Robinson Rangers here

Had a similar problem and all me PAKs are ok... but managed to fix

Go to your Bin32 folder...

Right click MechwarriorOnline.exe and run as administrator.

For some reason this works but a normal start doesn't.

hello there,

first, excuse my english, its not my mother language^^.

I had the same issue since february, suddenly. I tried reinstall client, update graphic card driver, installing netframwork 4.5, run as admin, reset my pc-system, changing the settings in the nvidia control center, control archives with 7zip but nothing worked.

BUT: i was able to solve my black screen problem. I usually use wlan, because I play mwo with my notebook. but today I tried a LAN (cable) connection and was surprised, launching the match was possible within few seconds. I tried it a couple of times with LAN and every time it worked. no more stucks on black screens. it seems, that I have trouble with my wlan card or wlan driver.

so, to use a LAN connection maybe is a solution for you?

good luck @ all.

None of the "solutions" in this thread or others helped me resolving the problem (reducing the max fps reduced the occurrence of crashes somewhat, but thats not really a solution). Any news regarding this issue?

If you have trouble finding the option to run as administrator all the time, go into the properties of each EXE and go to "Compatibility" - check "run as administrator"
