A particular premade, no name calling. Just read.

But they kept their word. I am assuming they were on comms and a team because, with PUGs, usually if someone offers surrender some other pilot is more than happy to break the terms for a kill . These folks had the discipline to follow their presumed leader's orders.
Wish I knew who they were, I'd like to try to set up matches against my outfit with them some day.

I'd PM Anders if you had the group I think you did pulling that stuff, and have him have a look and see if indeed, they're WoL- but I'm actually thinking someone's doing it on purpose to troll in the name of the Goons and simply make em look bad.

I used to identify Goons based on 2 attributes:
1. Squawk
2. Gausscats
Attribute 2 doesn't work anymore though I think.

Gold is so gold. They had NO IDEA that multiplayer online game needs some tools to prevent griefing, stalking and harrasment? They had NO IDEA about Internet Hate Machine? It's absolutely their fault: they just can't into usability and interface. Holy Blake, we still have NO IDEA what mechs are in our team, because they're failing to paste this into the players list forever, though they were telling that "they're going to address this" in august. If they're developing a great revival of the great franchise, they'd better f***ing HAVE some IDEAS!
And for "gl hf" look in my signature. Though I've already grinded my Commando by the banzai charges, so now I can go on pubstomping rampage too. Trials are just too disgusting even for this.

Who quits a game after 1 or 2 bad encounters? I have trouble buying this sort of hyperbole due to the fact that i have no personal experience of this nature. But any credibility to your claim goes right out the door when you insist every participant in that game is gone, just *poof* not interested. Have you quit MWO?

Last I checked I'm not quitting. I'm suggesting fixes due to the severity of the encounter I ran into, on one of the first few days of an open beta. And I completely assume that someone who is casually interested in MWO will leave instantly after verbal abuse, and since most of the people in the game were fresh out of the hopper, I see no reason why any of them would want to stay.
At this stage, this crap isn't expected because people who know what they are doing and are in the community shouldn't be acting like this. It wasn't happening at the end of the closed beta, that's for sure.
In any case, does it matter whether they all went poof? If it is hyperbole (and I don't think it is) then it isn't by much. Isn't the more important part that this kind of stuff shouldn't be happening, and that as a community we shouldn't condone this kind of garbage?
Also, this is the first time I've seen this happen. I've played tons of pug games (I only run pug) and I wouldn't have said anything if it weren't for how bad it got.
Straw man arguments are bad arguments. If you disagree, fine, but disagree with my point, not what you think my point is or the execution of my point.

I think you ran to these forums to soon after the match while still super-charged with rage and misdirected angst. I don't think anyone from that match (including yourself) hates MWO, i think they hate those a-holes they had to play against.

Of all of the FPS servers my CLAN has rented, absolutely "NO" advertising was allowed, and any rival Clan "NOT" showing respect would get a beatdown, and then temp banned, and I would wait for their members to log onto our website, and either "BEG" to play our server again becausue their hanky little Clan didn't run one of their own, or they would try to flame the forums, and at that point the thread was never seen anyway...
You're nicer than me. When I was a server admin in another game I permabanned on the first offense. The only thing I ever temp banned for was excessive trash talk to the point that it was disrupting the game. Reasonable amounts of trash talk I have no problem with. Spawn camping? Permaban. Cheating? Permaban. Intentional TKing? Permaban. Talking back to me? Permaban. Jaywalking? Permaban. Luckily we didn't have many people misbehaving despite being a popular server, probably thanks to my itchy ban finger. I show my enemies no more mercy IRL than I do in-game.

I seem to remember hearing about PGI looking to redesign chat so hopefully that'll bring in features like ignore and the like.

We kicked the snot out of them first, then temp banned them (or straight banned them), then if their Clan leader contacted me, I would make him eat crow to get his people back on the server, and record this in my TeamSpeak server... Sadly I lost most of those recordings, or you would have a YouTube link with the sound bytes... Cheating was Auto Ban, and Global PB submit..
Rules you got a warning, after that you sat in the corner for a while... They always came back...

I am sorry but i disagree when you say pgi is not at fault. at this point of the development there is still no Skill lvl MM.
Even something simple like : ( K/D) * K (k= game played or 200 is >) . this simple thing would prevent total noob to play against a Epeen premade. and with the KD ratio of premade they would mainly play against each other.
Over the last few month this feature (MM) was clearly not a priority for the dev.
In fact everything started downhill (for MM) when they decided the class pairing ****. it was a bad solution. a really simple Battle value based on the mech total cost would be better.
anyway now we must wait for phase 3 to keep this from happening.
But let's be honest for one person who speak about noob getting trashed by premade or more experienced pug, 10 pugs leave the game for ever. Imagine the learning curve of this game is already daunting (at least), there is little to no support for new players and you can start your first match against a 8 man lrm boat team. Imagine you launch you first game of dota and play against a team of 5 scoring a 30-2 by minute 10...or your 5 first sc2 game and you play against diamonds + leaguers who 4gates/roach rush you to death.
i'll add that even trial mech are not a good choice for the few first game, there is too much lrm for learning game. Your first 10/15 game should be made in a separate league with noob only. and maybe only 4vs4. Without lrm boat awesome, but : something like : 4g/ centurion/ ppc awesome / dragon.../ ppc k2 / limiting the number of lrm.
It's clear to me that pgi team made a mistake in resource allocation, game tuning, hero mech, games mode....everything should have been after a good MatchMaking system. at least something decent. I'll even add : the majority of the game balance is null, for now we have no meta-game and no way to chain game against opponent of your level. Once we can play regularly against player of the same skill we will see the weapon who need rebalancing.
To conclude : Yea it's sux and it's stupid to pit 7 noobs + 1 founder vs a premade team of founder already in lvl 2 tech (Endo + double) ....

You do realize that Gausscats are not that hard to kill and that many goons do not drive them, right. Also many times we go matches without ever Squawking at all. Generally if there is squawking its either because the entire team was really really bad(most pug groups surprisingly do not fall into this category) or there were a couple of players on it who were really bad.(see 2 flamer commando... that's it 2 flamers). Thank you for your time.
SQUAWK!!!!

What kind of sound do you do if your own team is bad? (bad day, bad performance, etc.)

On the other hand, at least it let the PUG team know right from the start that we were up against a premade. It didn't help, despite my efforts to rally the troops, but it was better than being roflstomped and then told it was by a premade. To be totally honest it went the same way most games against an organised team go, just a little quicker. The most annoying thing about it was that it mad the chat window useless, their spam meant our messages disappeared very quickly.

I mean seriously? Not only do they defeat a new team of people that are limited to using mostly Trial mechs, but they also throw INSULTS at them? What kind of social interaction problems do these people have in real life?
I can understand the willingness to WIN but winning by any means possible AND then be an *** about it? Whatever happened to the congratulating the other team and leaving the field regardless of victory with a salute to either team and a finishing "GF" in chat? Smacktalk is fine but everything has a limit.
My apologies to the new guys that there are ******** in the game that use a one-trick pony cookie-cutter tactic and bad manners and not knowing how behave in a civilized manner.

E.G. Premades claim that they aren't a premade. Then they base rush us with mass lights at 140 kph. By the time our trial ravens get back to base, the base is capped (and trial ravens don't stand a chance against jenners anyway). Then the end of game scoreboard shows up and...they are all founders. 8 founders, on one team, claiming not to be a premade. Gee, what are the odds of that?
Or a premade claims they aren't a premade, then at the end they start advertising their unit or taunting us when they are about to win. Wise cracks about how pugs will always lose till they "get some friends" seem to be the most popular.
Even pugs are trolling now by bragging about how leet they are because their 140 kph jenner can sustain more fire than an atlas due to MWO's legendary poor hit detection.
It's shocking that some people are trying so hard to drive people away from this game, when they are not being paid to do so.
