It would be nice to have a system to look at an ally's health and loadout similar to how you view that of an enemy.

Hit the Q button, you can see health % of all mechs on your team, and enemies with a good lock by friendlies.

"Q" lets you see basic health info, but not where they may be damaged or what weapon systems they may no longer have.

I am missing this, too.

In Mechwarrior 4 it was possible to cycle between both enemy and friendly mechs with two separate key binds.

Agreed.

Being able to target allies to instantly see their damage state and weapon loadout should be in.

It's not a complaint, it's a suggestion. There is an important distinction, and good suggestions will help build a better finished product.
