The apparent real change in heat in a mech as JJs are used indicates something more complicated than "add .1 heat per JJ" is going on, but I am having trouble quantifying the event. I searched in the forums as well as through Google and found no answers, so here I am asking for help.

Basics:
According to the ItemStats file all Jump Jets have a max ignition time of five seconds, a cool down time of one second and a generated heat value of one tenth heat.

My presumption is that each JJ individually adds to the mechs heat when the space bar is pressed.

Questions:
Is there a 'heat penalty" when firing multiple JJs?

Is there a min heat generated for firing a JJ (Like there is for a Flamer)?

Does the burn time multiply the heat value (a 3 second burn generates .3 heat per JJ)?

Or does it all work in some other manner?

Thanks all!

Multiple jump jets do nothing at the moment. Any number of jump jets will act the same as 1 jump jet.

I've not noticed any heat in relation to JJ use - at least no meaningful amount. It's less than having your engine at full throttle at least.

Also Krivvan is right in that multiple jets are useless right now.

The current usefulness of multiple Jump Jets is immaterial to trying to figure out how they add heat. If they are not working correctly today, they will eventually (barring an announcement otherwise, of course).

you'll see a 2-3% increase in heat on Caustic when you use a single Jump Jet while not moving. I do not have any experience with more than 1 (see above reason not to have more than 1)

Pretty negligible over all .... for now.

It slows down the speed you cool down though.

Announcement or not... I'll find out real quick when they do fix them. I'll be running along and jump right into the face of a building not %20 of the way up because I have only 1 JJ on my Jenner.

I hope they coincide that correction along with the double heat sink issue where the DH in an engine only function as a single after the upgrade. (Those in the crit spots works as indicated... @ 2x.)

edit. typo
