So i'm not sure if this has been talked about by the devs or not,but I've found that it doesn't really make a difference (C-bill wise) how I perform in a match. For example:
I take my founders atlas, that i've spent millions of c-bills customizing, and take down 3 opponents. My team wins by a fair margin.Payout averages around 215,000 c-bills.Let's say my atlas survived, but got moderately beat up.Repairs will run me about 80k c-bills.This is generally the amounts I'm seeing.
Founders Atlas win:
215,000-80,000(repair cost) = 135,000 profit average
Now,Here's the problem. If I decide to run a trial mech, doesnt matter which, and I go in,power down, and AFK in the corner until the end of the match I actually make more money over the long haul.Let's assume my team wins without me anyways.
Trial mech win:
160,000 (average) - (no repairs) = 160,000 profit average.
Now,This part is even worse.Let's take the founders atlas again....but this time we get steamrolled by a premade pugstomp, which seems to happen in about 1 in 6 games on average if I had to make a guess. In this situation I might make about 105,000 c-bills.Of course my atlas is trashed.
Founders Atlas loss:
105,000 - 110,000 (avg. full repair cost) = -5,000 c-bill loss
Trial mech loss:
105,000 cbill profit!
Anyways, the point I'm getting at is I can join a game in a trial mech,AFK in the corner, and make more profit than if I bring my costly owned mechs, take out several enemies, and win the round.Something just does not seem right about that. It's not the trial mechs,or the trial mech mechanic I have a problem with. It's that no matter how I perform, rather I AFK or own face, the payout isn't really going to be much better either way.

So play a trial mech if your expensive mech is too expensive

Be glad you're making 135,000, just before OB when FF and DHS just appeared I Broke Even on a 5 kill 2 assist, 1296 damage done to enemy round, and broke even, and wouldn't have broken even paying for ammo... I will edit this with a sceenshot later, My friends just got online to play... Be back to edit..

We are addressing several known issues with farming.
Trial Mech Locking
Trial Mech Locking
- Trial Mechs will now work the same as any BattleMech, they are locked until the match ends. This ends the ability for a macro player to "churn" matches to maximize CB.
- You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.
- NOTE: If you are dead, you will receive earned rewards, plus match rewards.
- Players that fail to provide any input will be kicked from a match Although it does not prevent a macro player from simply putting in inputs, it forces them to LOOK like a bot.
