What would be REALLY cool, if it would even be possible would be to build an iPad app that is a configurable touch pad control system for in combat systems.

At the very least a single screen customizable selector for weapons systems, throttle control etc. but potentially a gesture system as well for a multi screen configuration to swipe to multiple screens allowing much more configurations; comms screen, combat screen etc.

Also for dual screen/multi screen an ability to extend HUD desktop area while maintaining single screen gameplay POV.

If they allow user mappable I/O feeds, I could try this for Android powered tablets. I'm kind of sort of 100% anti Apple.

Android and or apple ;). Everyone has their preference. I imagine if they do one they'd do both.

If PGI did it, probably. If I did it? Get one of your apple people to translate it. ;)

Anything is possible, but I doubt they will build anything for the Ipad or android.

I'd rather want PGI to stay out of such things, at least until they have a steady income from MWO microtransactions, Right now there are much more important things to do with the game. Various tablet apps are just bells and whistles, they would be useless if the game itself would not have enough developers' attention.

Fair call silk, however with the uptake on iPad and android tablets it's no small market they'd be catering to. I'll be setting up a HippRemote profile to allow functionality for it, but with no feedback from the game itself it will be fairly limited.

Small innovations are often the best thing a game company can do to encourage sales.

Picture a 3 screen setup with an iPad mounted on the outside of the peripheral monitor (or even two iPads) with weapon control systems, and loadout feedback on one, strategic map - pinch zoom able with comms selectable on the other.

The possibilities are amazing AND while they would take resources, to bring on an extra developer the return I think would be well worth it.

Or, as I stated, if they allowed the option of customizable I/O feeeds(not just controller configs for x360 or Saitek x52's, but say a damage readout that can be live output to a separate device), the open nature of the coding platform of android would allow the user base to do this for them. I know it may be more work for them, and not necessarily something I even care too much for, but if it were possible, I know I'd do all I could to make neat little feeds and sell the rights to PGI.

Edit: I'd sell the rights for the app to PGI. Basically, my creation, their property.
