This guy is complaining. What a tool.

You got 1 Mech for free WITH a permanent boost in addition to 80$ worth of MC. You only paid 60 for all this. Wtf do you have to feel ripped off about? Oh and I forgot the 2 free months of Premium.

Bluten I feel the mechs cost too much. I feel that paying 60 bucks as a founder your MC should buy you all "release" content. Basicly all the mechs that "ship" at open beta. I think somone else suggested that you get 3 varrients for the current Mech price, that would be fair. As is I have 4 Catapult varrients (one a founder), 1 raven, 1 Atlas, and a hero centurion and yes because I pre ordered it "only" cost me 60 bucks.....

Dosn't seem a bit pricy to you?

I was a little surpised to see that players didnt' recieve a free mech at start, just to get the ball rolling. playing around in mechlab is one of the highlights of the game, and new players may not get to see it for 100 hours (10,000,000 c-bills / 100,000 per match in a trial mech)

100 hours is a big exaggeration, but otherwise I agree, the $ to MC is a little steep (especially the smaller impulse sized packs) and MC to 'mechs ratio is at the edge of what people would pay. Sure some people who don't have time will pay to play a 'mech they want, but considering how little they give non-paying players they could get more folks to spend money if they gave paying customers more. Even if premium time and bays are priced right I can't believe the current 'mech prices are "optimal".

I agree with the OP. I was going to support the game no matter what since I am a huge battletech fan which is why I bought the legendary founders pack, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends based on progression alone. Start and play a ton of unbalanced games to simply get enough money to buy your first mech? That's crazy. Trial mechs are fine and I like how they rotate but you need to give a free light mech of choice to new accounts plus a day or so of premium (or call it somehting else like noob bonus). Let them level from game one and get them hooked. I don't know how a non-founder does it forced to play trial mechs for countless battles until they can hoard enough credits to buy first mech and progress (customize and level).

As for using MC to buy mechs that was a closed beta tactic only. If there is anything I learned from WoT it was to not pay real money for stuff you can reasonably get with in game currency. Grinding a couple million to get a mech and config it doesn't take that long. Modules seems like a money generator for PGI. They are so expensive and require so much gxp to get it is ridiculous.

its really not in exaggeration. have you tried playing without a founders mech or premium? trying saving up for an atlas... it will take you 100 hours at least.

Well if you have $120 to just give away thats great. I personally dont give away my money so easily without expecting something of value in return.

And that is fine, but again, they billed the Legendary Package as kind of a kickstarter thing.

I feel I've gotten my money's worth; even if there are things I'm unhappy about.

Like my pledge to not spend one penny more until they restore the CN9-AH

I think that "Founder's cash should buy every mech in game right now" is a bit much.

I think three variants of a mech for the current price of one would be fair. In my eyes.

Don't forget the 4 Mechs given to you with 25% C-Bill Boosters, 4 additional open Mechbay slots. It really isn't that bad.

He's not a legenedary founder. Golds like you get those 3 extra mechs.

this again?

also op, shall i remind you that those oh so customizable t1,2,3 tanks cant do **** against anything t+1? or that you with high probability will face t+1-2 who can just oneshot you in your second match? mwo on the other hand gives you almost equal ground and protects you from mindlessly blowing your xp\c-bills - no god damned "grind from t0 to t10 to be able to at least damage anything" - just jump in and play.

Skipping past the $>MC conversion discussion to your comments about scrap, I definitely agree seeing salvage as a more interesting mechanic would be sweet. Grinding for a steady flow of C-Bills is pretty dull. There's a reason why games like WoW do randomized drops. They give you something to anticipate, and a lucky drop really sticks out in your mind. Currently, we get our 10k in salvage each win or whatever. Firstly, I would like to see that average go up, and have it be the primary benefit of winning (I'd be fine with the Win/Loss base payouts getting normalized). Track what pieces of a mech are still intact, and dole them out. Internals, Gyros, and Cockpits could be converted into CB and split. Intact weapons, 10% of remaining armor (simply because the amount of armor you'd accumulate at 100% would be absurd), and any engine that hadn't lost any crits would be randomly assigned to a person who participated in the kill (I'm okay with spotting counting if the model is made a little more reasonable. I got Spottingx7 against a single target that I didn't have direct line of sight to last night simply because I had him targeted). Make the average value of the payout somewhat higher than it would otherwise be, since most of the things will get sold at half price anyway, but it would be fun to occasionally luck out and pull a 245XL out of that gaussapult you headshot.

I bet you we'd see more legging.

Your math is way off, sir. Assuming one match every 10 minutes and 100,000 c-bills per match, it would take 100 MATCHES to accumulate 10 million C-Bills, or just under 17 hours.

100 000 * 100 - 10 million (atlas price)

so u earn 100 k c bills an hour .. interesting .. i believe u can do better then that ...

even if every single match took 15 minutes (which it hardly ever does) u would earn like 500 k per hour (and thats probably low ******* the numbers)

so yes 100 hours is VASTLY exaggerated - aaah ... the beauty of basic arithmetic

edit : damn u dark .. dirty ninja

these mech prices are a complete rip off. 25$ for one mech? are we serious? In a game that's supposed to pride itself on tons of mechs to play with - they want 25$ for ONE. How about this: make a metric c rap ton of mechs (20-30) sell them for 2-6$ a piece, then I'll spend money.

That 120$ was some of the best money I ever spent in my opinion. I had selected the Founders Cat before I upgraded to Legendary, and I still drive it the most.

I think current MC prices might be inflated just a bit, but that is PGI's choice to make.

As to Mech Prices I paid 35$ a tank for premium tanks at World of tanks not once, but twice, and figured both of them well worth the money.

With premium and Founders bonus I have been averaging over a million Cbills an hour without hardly trying.
