I bought the computer in the link at the end of this article a week ago and it finally came yesterday. After setting it up and playing MWO on it it for a while I was slightly disappointed by how the game ran. At 1920x1080 i get around 30-35 fps at medium detail with anti aliasing off. I was wondering if anybody has an opinion if this benchmark sounds reasonable giving the computer's hardware. Major components are:

Cpu: FX-6100
Gpu: GTX 560
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2

A couple notes:

- Before anyone starts talking about this computer was a waste of money at $729 (which i agree with) it should be noted that I bought it on an open box special for $580. With my budget being around $600 I thought that it was a good deal because of the gtx 560.

- I know a lot of people dislike the fx-6100 so I was a little worried about it. If the fps seems low do you think its from cpu throttling, and if so do you have any advice on how to combat it?

Actually, I believe your performance is about where it should be with a non-ti GTX560. I don't believe the issue is with the FX6100.

yeah, if that's not a ti version of the 560, you might be at your max settings. also, if you're running 4gb of ram, you could bump that to 8 pretty inexpensively, and it should help a little.

also make sure your drivers are up to date, and that you are not running too many high cpu usage processes.

Add Ram, update your drivers.. get the latest DX package because even though I thought mine was up to date, they were not. If you were using the Ti I would expect more but from the straight card that is about right. Be sure to check the nVidia control panel and get that straightened out because there is a trick to that as well. Make sure Ambient Occlusion is off which is a huge killer. Power management should be set to maximum performance as well, stock is adaptive. There are a few other things as well.

Thanks for the replies. I am running 8gb of RAM so I'm fine there. I think the next step I'm going to take is to try and OC the graphics card. From what I've read the GTX 560 can get some good performance gains from that.

AMD, there's your problem. Also it's alot cheaper to build a pc yourself.

Bullsht! Game works fine on AMD CPUs.
