I could, right now, create an alter ego and immediately go to Teamspeak and find a team to be Mister Sociable. I could immediately get better stats than the Vermaxx login, and keep them there by only playing with competent people. I could get recruited by a mediocre team, and get placed in constant 4-man teams come Phase 1, and possibly back in a full team in Phase 2. I could do all this only using trial mechs.
Now let's look at Vermaxx, who has paid 60 dollars and has 16 kills to 58 deaths; 19 wins to 56 losses; and a K/D ratio of ZERO POINT TWO EIGHT (0.28). Admittedly, some of that (a lot) was due to giving no fukks and doing nothing to avoid death. Nonetheless, I actively avoid grouping with strangers.
This is not P2P. Currently, paying and doing nothing else is Pay 2 Lose.

Premades aren't winning because they paid lots of cash.
Premades are winning because they're good at the game and brand new players aren't.

What will 4 limit and match making changes have to do with half the Puggers going AFK each game and not knowing how to play? I've seen puggers shoot at a mech standing still for 5 minutes and do no damage because they overheat every 2 seconds.

People that paid lots of cash get to jump right into a match with a mech designed by themselves with guns and additions of their choosing.
Free players are stuck using mechs with no additions and extremely low tier weapon combinations (2 medium lasers 1 small?). I get hammered by people using 9 lasers while I'm stuck using 2.
Early on the game is very much so Pay-to-Win, until free players gain enough money to purchase their first mech and deck it out like the premium players did then it's unbalanced. I assume this design will turn a lot of new players off too, I only stuck with it because my friend plays.

I sat in a stock Jenner and grinded 21,000,000 c-bills before being able to buy and kit out my AWS-9M.
Don't tell me I "don't have to grind anything".

Moreso that the premades coordinate fire through voice coms while spamming gauss cats, streak cats, LRM-15 atlases and small laser jenners to death. Basically exploiting every known quirk build to the fullest. Does that make them better mechwarriors? Not always.

1. Reliably getting matched against other premades.
2. Puggers still getting stomped and realizing a lot of times its just a pug team kicking their butts.

lol, the beta-forums standard:
things I disagree with: complaining.
things I agree with: insightful feedback.
I mean its all they do.
I would like to see some ppl come in on the forums and talk trash about how they owned a whole premade team.
That's what i would do.
In fact I'll start it
I'm the best freakin pilot ever and no one can beat me, or my team. nuff said
get at my cockiness!

There's not a single person in my merc corps that runs any of those builds. They're all awful, low-tier piles of crap. I still have absolutely no idea why they're as popular as they are.
Doomapults, though. Those are pretty sweet.

Easy fix, get on a public TS channel and join a group. It will improve your chances greatly, it's free and you don't have to be part of a corp.

You can really tell when it's a premade, most of them gloat about how bad they rolled the opposite team and trash talk. Usually a premade will end a pug match in 2-3 minutes.

I ran a few missions where I shouted "ZORTH!" at the beginning, and posted a fake email address. When we were about to win I shouted "ZORTH!" again. Trust me, they were not premades.
