Bottled water is a rip off.
Premium brand, boy-racer petrol is a rip off.
Re buying all your CDs on minidisk in the early 90's, a rip off.

A F2P computer game, where you spend pretend money on pretend stompy mechs, for a zoom module that upscales the image by 4x is a lot of things; A workaround for low end PCs, a place holder maybe, some might even say an inelegant solution, but let's be honest - A rip off it ain't.

My 2009 camera has up to 12x optical zoom... Why can't 3049 tech have 12x optical zoom as well? Why do they resort to digital zoom at 4x? That's pathetic... and don't say lostech because digital zoom is more advanced then optical.

Edit: Also my camera's digital zoom looks far better then this. :)

LOL what I don't get is why people buy bottled water that's just tap water that's been boiled ;) (Distilled water) I can *almost* understand buying bottled spring-water... but buying distilled water is silly. Not only can you get the exact same effect by just boiling your own tap water for 1 minute drinking distilled water is actually bad for you long term. (lots of medical studies on this, actually).

Boy have we gone off topic :)

you'd be amazed the difference in tap water quality based on location.
go somewhere like arizona where its like drinking chlorine, then compare it to the pacific northwest where the aquafers are awesome and companies want to bottle its water because it tastes so good, good thing we don't let them though lol

Saves keystrokes.

If I spot a dragon skylining himself on caustic I just hit V to better target him faster and still can see the Jenner approaching in peripheral vision. I take my shot, then V to clear my view and can target the Jenner without all the intervening Zs.

Verdict: useful.

Ahh but if you boil it you've purified it anyway. Boiling water for 1 minute kills pretty much anything bad for you unless there are heavy metals in it (in which case you've got much bigger problems). :) Boiled tap water, even in 3rd world countries, is perfectly safe to drink (again, barring poisons or heavy metals in the water). In that case use bottled or distilled water ;)

Anyone who argues that the zoom module is not terrible has not unlocked it.

It is terrible.

It is not blurry. It is pixeled. It is like a pull up box for your MWO where the graphics inside said box go back to the 1980s.

Advanced zoom needs renaming. Retro graphics box.

Your backward and condescending cockney attitude doesn't mask your overt and obnoxious hubris when you make value judgements about somebody else's own personal time. Snide is the only way to describe the initial responses. At least by those who have yet to be so completely consumed by their own board-warrior E-go.
Maybe to the kneck-beards who play 10hours a day it may not seem much, but not so many are "fortunate" enough to afford that sort of time and I personally wouldn't dismiss their grievances so quickly.

Sausage

I agree 100 % with your post I to see it this ways as will.

Not only can you get the exact same effect by just boiling your own tap water for 1 minute drinking distilled water is actually bad for you long term if you don't drink anything else as it can leach nutrients and trace elements from your system over time since it's acidic. It's great periodically and for purges though and also good if you're in a country or area where water quality is a big concern. (lots of medical studies on this, actually).

boiled and distilled are two different things. You don't distill water by boiling it for 1 minute.

Yep. Good luck trying to condense that steam at home without a lot of expensive glassware and fixtures.

I'd pay for a PIP zoom that gives some form of image enhancement. Make it a wireframe, no need for fancy polygons and textures (which take time to calculate and render).

Maybe I'm just nostalgic for MW2's image enhancement, which gave you an actual live wireframe with damage colors.

You know, I used to stick up for PGI about features that I use and think are OK, but I get nothing but crap from them in return.

Screw it, zoom sucks, redo it.

Yeah its not rly worth the cost.
Something is being done about it, and i would be nice if it was clear.

I still like it though :(
The grainy-ness, somehow, i recon gives it a bit of character
