Light mechs and their lag shields are sort of ruining this game.

It's becoming increasingly common as people catch on to how HORRIBLE the net code is to see teams fielded of 4 or more lights. At first 4 was a lot, but now if their team DOESN'T have 4 jenners circle strafing us it's a rarity.

Even mechs like MPL-Dragons that used to do a good job of destroying lights just can't even find their hitbox to hurt them and get wrecked.

Collisions are a whole other issue. Being unable to find their hitbox to even HURT them is what is wrecking this game.

Step 1: Get 5-6 SRM6's or 3 SRM6's + 3-5 ML
Step 2: Open up your Missile Bays (hit /)
-Note you will take more damage now
Step 3: As soon as the light mech stumbles on you, don't suck, hit fire and hit the light mech center mass
Step 4: Rinse and repeat on survival

SRM's + ML at close to point blank range, removes Light Mechs from play quicker than any other weapon in the game.

You realize the post you're responding to was written on November 2nd of last year?

You realize that this is still a major problem on February 9th of THIS year? As in, today?

This definitely needs attention, and was the reason I haven't been playing between now and last year. I'm rather unsettled to see it's still a problem.

Really? It's still an issue? It's as bad as it was prior to the netcode patch?

http://mwomercs.com/...eds-in-decline/ I guess that's one person's opinion. Others apparently think differently.

Are you playing on the moon? Where you see a mech is where you hit now. Slaughternig lights with AC20's and gauss has become pretty easy since where you shoot is where you hit now since some of the optimizations have come out.

The problem has gotten a bit better with the last few patches but it can still be frustrating.

The only times I really get annoyed is when you drop against a 4 man pre-made all running ecm light mechs. Talk about cheesie.

Post a screen of your ping. We all play on the same servers and most people don't have this problem. There are only 2 explanations; bad connection or bad players looking for scapegoats.

Most people? I'm pretty sure you are speaking for no one but yourself. There is hardly anything worse on this forum than fanboys like you attempting to conceal serious issues with this game. Hit detection in this game is anything but perfect. Even the development team is confirmed this. Now go clean the **** from your nose.

I think crying netcode/lag shield is a synonym for ********* now since it's basically been fixed. Perhaps you happen to come against someone with an actual laggy connection and/or bad ping.

When you do find a lag shielded mech in game it is really frustrating.

Thank God it doesn't happen as often as it used to.

Second to last patch worked wonders for me, and yes you will have problems if you live far enough from where the server is hosted.

It is the truth of the gaming word. I think there are a few guides on how to tell how far ahead you need to aim though, I would try to find one of them. And yes I had aim ahead by three mech lengths for most fast lights, with lasers, even when I only had 89ish ping. This has since been fixed for me, but I feel your pain. ;_;7

oh, good everyone. He says it's our connection. Everyone who has had issues with being unable to hit lights just has bad connections! Everyone, everyone! All of you who get circle strafed every game, it's not the net code sucking, it's your connection!

Having a good engine helps...engine rating is weapons tracking speed.

That only makes it worse, seems the lag shield is back in the game since the last patch.

Yepp, lagshield is back.
I am playing with my wife our PCs are standing in the same room. We have the same Ping(ra 120).
I am shooting at a light cycling me, the reticle signals hits, my wife spectating me sees on her screen that I am missing by a few meters.

The bad part?
It's not even reproducable, sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't.
It's nearly April 2013 and this problem is still occuring.

It is now June of 2013 and this is still an issue. My ping is fine, my packetloss is fine, and I just had a Jenner named ZetaFalcon teleporting all over the place.

This needs fixed; I have money in my wallet waiting to be spent, but I will not spend a dime on a game that allows exploits this ridiculous.

One solution is to bring back the knock down dynamics. Allow us to body slam a light mech circle strafing us and pump him full of SRM's while he's laying down. It makes sense. In fact, the simple fact they removed it is proof they're losing their mind when it comes to ignoring player feedback / suggestions.

Why do humanoid mechs have hands? To hold stuff? To hit stuff? To punch stuff? To **** slap? So why can't they do that? Why can't I ram a Raven in my Stalker to kill him? Impacts such as the above are realistic, and would be an integral part of combat (and were in TT, and in the books, and in the cartoon, et cetera), so the simple fact something SO important to getting out of a light mech circle ****** you has been removed and not re implemented especially when lag shields are in effect just tells me the devs are douches. .__.
