Lol, I was in a game the other day and a guy trolled the alt+f4 trick. 5 players on his team disconnected. No one on our side fell for it. It was probably the best moment of fail all week.

Now that I could laugh at with a (relatively) clear conscience. Serves him right.
Still, I don't see how 'people have always done it' and 'other people do worse things' are excuses, but whatever, I'm just sayin', it irks me when I see people being dicks just for grins, when we should all just be enjoying the game.

Haha I, just downloaded this game yesterday and fell for the alt-F4 trick myself. I was trying to figure out how to get the game to full screen so I asked. Of course, "just press alt + F4" someone said. I thought the game had crashed or something.

Hah, I fell for that too for the same exact reason. I knew about Alt + F4 though, but my brain didn't click at the time.
I also did it to others a few times. I think about 3 or 4 people in total fell for it.

How much does it harm a person? Oh no, ONE game they didn't know something, and they instantly learn not to do it. ONE game they dont make 25,000 Cbills. OH NO.
This practical joke isn't nearly as bad as people suggesting, say, others should kill themselves. Yet you're all treating it like they're the worst scum in the world. You internet pansies need to get some sun and meet the real scum of the world.

I've also seen people telling new players that they can get a buff by pressing 'P'. This is not true, of course - 'P' is used to power up/power down your mech.
Veterans who take advantage of newbies in this fashion disgust me, nevermind getting themselves targeted by me.

Veterans? It takes 2 minutes to examine all the controls in options and learn each button. It is not hard.

Diggin out an older thread, since I witnessed a scene like that in game lately and one player was raging about it being unfair and how everybody is a **** etc.etc..
So I ask you that are disgusted by those that pull off this kind of prank: where is your proof to the accusation that only veterans do that prank to newbs?
The before-mentioned 12yo-CODders come to my mind...
Then next, how many times have you (assuming you have played a few matches) read the same simple questions being asked mid match just while you're about to chat your team-tactics together? I felt the urge a few times myself TBH.
Newbs that take advantage of Veterans to get questions answered that they could easily look up themselves, but were too lazy, they deserve to get Alt-F4 trolled.
My 2cents, its not the prank's issue, its the question's..

Keep in mind, a LOT of videogamers got their first (and for many of them only) experience for videogames on the Xbox, or even the playstation/nintendo systems, where Alt-F4 does not exist.
And then there are some who were drunk/high/stupid at the time, and fell for it even when they knew better.
