Been playing for a few months and have tried every Mech available and there is one clear winner for me. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you

THE JENNER

This little Mech can pack a huge punch with MPL's and the damage it can take is insane. I was running around a base fighting 3 mechs one of them was a 9M with LPL and I got hit a lot of times off them all but I lasted well over three minutes causing loads of damage to all three mechs. I lost count at the amount of times I got hit, it's hilarious.

At first I thought the Jenner would be just a scout with very light armour that could be easily destroyed but this little Mech is as tough. And when you get on someones *** it's game over :(
  • Great Firepower
  • Very fast
  • Hard to hit, even with missiles
  • Can take a beating
It's clearly going to be nerfed but I strongly recommend you try it before it does get balanced, it's hilarious.

You know what's even better? x2 SSRM and x4 SLaser Jenners; you have more or less a guaranteed 10 Damage as soon as the SSRMs cooldown, and it massacres every enemy light you come across. That and the fact that you can go at 149.3 KPH when you have a 300 XL and the Speed Tweak skill makes you nigh invincible to everything but other SSRM Lights, Streak Cats, and LRMs.

None of the 'mechs are OP. They are just different - people tend to specialize in their favorite chassis and they get better at using it providing the appearance of OP.

Some people specialize in a 'mech and other people specialize in a role - I can scout better in a stock Atlas than some people can in a dedicated scout built Raven do so does that make scouting OP? On the other hand I can't brawl for **** regardless of the 'mech I'm using - for me its either skirmish or die so maybe brawlers are OP.

The best players find a role, a 'mech, and a build that they are comfortable in and they develop it over practice sometimes during the course of hundreds of games and it makes people think that things are OP but in honestly with the exception of a few weapons (flamers, MGs, and maybe, the Gauss Rifle, and LRM) the game is well balanced in the basics.

Ancalagon just described my Jenner completely. I was so happy they introduced the third Jenner. Speed tweak is amazing on the JR7-D.

There are NO Over-Powered Mechs.

Only Over Powered Pilots.

Jenner for sure. Streak Cats are pretty freaking annoying with chain fire. My LLas and UAC5 put them down easy; Jenners, not so much.

It's all about how you play and what mech suits that playstyle. Jenner wins it for me, because I can play at 140kph. Some people would prefer to stand and fight from behind a lot of armor with bigger guns.

Of course, if I had to pick one frame to label as OP, it would be the Cat. If there's a half decent Cat pilot, I struggle with them.

With no knockdown I've managed to destroy two dragons in one match using hostile LRM fire: just run in circles until you see a golden cloud heading your way then go stand in the legs on an enemy mech... instant shield.

Jenner OP

The only problem i see with the Jenner, is that it is far ahead of the other lights. And therefor becomes over used, much like the atlas was to begin with (coming from an atlas pilot). So although i hate Jenners, the only reason i can see for them to be nurfed, is to bring it on par with the other mechs. But I really don't mind too much either way. As they are, a decent medium or, as said earlier, K2 pilot can make short work of a Jenner. And with some tactics and team work, they can be nothing more than target practice.

Besides, a limping Jenner, is a very...VERY satisfying kill ;-).

Once the netcode is fixed, i think thats jenners will start falling alot quicker...I sure hope so anyway

You...you people apparently don't know how to shoot for the center torso. I've been cored out too many times to count by a direct ballistic hit in my Jenners. Yea, most Light Mechs with upgraded engines take glancing hits from energy and missile weapons, but one-two good shots with an AC/10 or AC/20 to the torso gets you every time. Remember the price for our 280-300 rated engines: A loss of armor, and/or increased fragility.

That, or the netcode hates us all. >>

If OP is defined as the mech people complain about the most its the GaussKat and 6x SSRM2 cat.

Other than that there is no OP mech, only epeen pilots.
