The point is Shiney they are playing this with the FPS mindset.

So lockable guided missiles are not apart of a FPS game.

the problem with the FPS mindset. This is as much of an FPS as a tank game, a flight sim, any sim that you control somthing. These so happen to shoot things.

This is not a game that needs to function like an FPS for the twitch reasons. They have lock on ability Like any mech or plane would. Even battlefield 3 has lock on rockets for plains and other guns. and that is an actual fps. do not play this game in the mind set every thing is all a test to 100% skill. It is more about team work and team coordination. So a couple lock on weapons are to be expected. Team verse team balance is what is needed in this game, Much like an mmorpg's arena/battlegrounds. If you balance 1v1 you will be shafted every round of patches. nerf nerf nerf buff buff buff nerf nerf followed by why the heck you nerf X when Y has always been OP an yet you nerf my playstyle and my weapon. Please nerf Y today!

the really bad bad side about streak cats is the real low skill level needed to play it.

I've been using Streaks lately and I can tell you that they are overpowered. By a lot.

I've been doing around 500 damage per match fairly often lately, often with 3 kills.

One time I had 564 damage and 3 kills... and we lost with 5 opponents still up. I was ranked 3/18, my teammates were #10 to 16.

Oh, by the way. I'm not a Streakapult.

I'm a Commando.

EDIT: typo.

Commando? This I wanna try!!

Streakpults are funny. The Catapult has such a big bulbous nose it's impossible to miss even when getting violently shaken up. The first time I met one he interrupted my LRM raining so I turned my 4 med lasers on him and killed him. I guess he saw my weapon loadout and assumed I was stock, rather, far from it. He died, I laughed, we lost, the world went on.

If you killed a full streak cat with 4 med lasers than he was doing something very wrong.

Vast majority of people, including the developers of the game: Streaks are broken currently. Sorry! They are being fixed in a later patch.

Small band of streak users, with Gallilean insight into game mechanics: Streak cats counter streak cats => Not broken.

So they had a spread on TT.
Like SMR 6s?

Voodoo, in TT srm rules are basically as follows. You make a to-hit roll for the missile. If you hit you then make a cluster roll. The cluster roll determines how many missiles in the pack of an accurate shot hit. So if you fire an SRM 6 and get a hit you may have anywhere from 3 to 6 of those missiles actually strike armor based on the cluster roll. For each missile that strikes the target a separate location roll is made. This creates the cluster. Streak missiles skip the cluster roll. If the player gets a successful to-hit roll with a streak srm missile then all the missiles hit the target. Each missile is still rolled individually for location. Thats why I said that streaks were not center torso seekers in TT.

With all that being said I was not bringing up TT to say that Streaks should work exactly the same way. Just to show that they were never intended to be center torso seekers. Ultimately MWO is not table top and whatever decisions are necessary to make the game fun and balanced trump TT rules.
