I always played MW4 by moving with the mouse and torso twisting with the keyboard. I'm not adjusting well to the MWLL/MWO bindings that control the torso with the mouse. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Is there anywhere the system files can I get a list of default bindings to see if this is possible?

Thanks

Unless you want to twist the torso in one direction and the arms in a completely alternate direction, there's no point. The arms will stay with the torso until they exceed the torso's twist, then the little circle in the targeting reticule will break off and show you where the arms are now aiming. It works quite well.

Go to Menu - Options - Configure control. You can change it there, although I don't really see how you're going to benefit from it - you'll certainly get the hang of the MWO controls after a few matches.

I would not mind if I lost the extra arm movement and if the arms and torso were always coupled with the arms leading the torso movement.

It's hard to shake 10yrs of habit...I see in the configure controls that the joystick axis are mappable. I'm trying to figure out if I can do that with the mouse axis. Also, there is only one 'torso twist' to use the keyboard, there would need to be 'twist left' and 'twist right'.

I still say you should try to shake that habit even if it's difficult; you'll never be able to capitalize on a 'mech with arms, and you'll be fighting the game design as well as your enemies.

would like the mapping torso twist to keyboard too... In the older mechwarrior i havent use mouse at all, i like (and used to) have both hands on keyboard. Besides it will improve the compatibility with some joysticks if it could work like a button and not just like an axis.
It would be nice to have it on the mapping options, but if someone knows how to modify a .cfg or something please post.

Not luck, just skill. ; )
Seriously, i found use the mouse exhausting for mw, keyboard is less fast but more accurate... its all about your style, but i hope they include this option in the mapping settings.

Jumping into your conversation...

I've found I have the same neural-hardwiring. I want to bind torso twisting to the keyboard and move left & right with my mouse. I keep running into things and I can't shake the habit of moving my mouse to pilot. I've played MW, MW2, MW:mercs, and MW4, and I think they all allowed (by default) to move the torso with the keyboard.

Also, I'd like to map my mouse scroll, but my IQ isn't high enough to figure out how to bind it with anything. How can you map anything other than a button to the key bindings?

Thanks.
