You are joking right?

That is a terrible premade... the founders atlas and cat in the pug team together with the trial dragon and the ravens simply have to engage the 2 streak cats first from long range, the pug jenners run interference keep some of the premade lights away until the cats are dead. Once the cats are dead, the dragon and ravens join the jenners to keep the lights of the two founders pug mechs which will 2 v 1 the premade atlas hopefully from range.

That's what happend (Caustic, not factory side. I was located left side):

I typed "stay together, lets meet at (insert Coordinate of sugarcane Hills)".

3 Scouts ran right side, 2 Caldera, 1 Raven and the Dragon stayed with me. Can't remember where the Cat went, didn't see it again...

1 Enemy Jenner ran 4 Row, saw me and my little group. We had 3 dead by time I stopped at the Sugar Canes while defending against 3 Jenners. I believe it was the Cats, since the Atlas engaged me soon after arriving there. My raven friend walked his lowly 65kph, fleeing from the 145kph Jenners and typing "Help". Can't really say what the Dragon did, the Atlas was upon me, and one of the Jenners on my other side. Soon after one of the Cats arrived too. After dying to them pair, I backseatetd the Dragon for about 30 seconds being chainfired by one Cat and that was the end of the match...

I don't know how long the Trials Pilots played, might be one of their first matches. Yes, IF we stayed together, IF we knew what we faced, IF they didn't panic being chain-fired by Streaks, and some other IFs :(

That's the core of the Problem: If we had been a Team on TS or C3 and would coordinate our actions we could have followed your advice. If noone types anything I only have the view from my cockpit. If I play premade someone would have called. "Streakapult at XY, concentrate fire". Or "Shortrange Atlas Incoming". I didn't KNOW where that Atlas was, I didn't know

its up to the group whether or not they announce themselves. Im not sure why that should make a difference, a Pug should try to make a plan and organize no matter if your against a pre-made or not, because it will help even if its just pug v pug. the point has been made several times that teamwork and tactics are the key to victory in this game.

I pug exclusively. I don't care if I'm facing a premade. I do care if they're dicks about it.

I completely agree. I PuG, well, because I have to, but I also enjoy it. It feels good to be in a team and have someone new to the game ask questions. It feels good to be able to answer those questions and know that you helped someone.

What does not feel good, is in that same match. Our team gets rolled and the team that stands in the cap hobbles the last survivor and lets him limp around shooting his last small laser in vain as they spend the time it takes the cap to wind down boasting about how awesome they are and how amazed they are that PuG's are crap.

"You have been rolled by 'insert clan name', because you suck"

Seriously? How is this beneficial to anyone but your e-peen?

What hurts the most are those who decided to disconnect early instead of fighting to the end. This happened too often in PUG.

I feel the same way as you,I don't mind teams as long as it up against a norther team.
What we got right now is a way to Farm or Mine the new guy which harms the game.
Team Drops should have never been put in until the Dev built fraction play ,as it is their teams are a bunch Gangster Ripping the new players to build up their team Mechs.

This you suck our clan rules attitude will grow, however if a veteran player joins a pug of decent gamers knowing the map he is dropping in he can help lineout the makeup of the lance and strategy making it a world of difference in being prepared to take out LRM boats and guass cats, which takes teamwork. That is why voip integration and a true lobby where you pick your map and then select mechs matters so much.

As a new player, I think what bothers me the most right now, is the 'stare down your nose'...'you're all a bunch of COD players' attitude of many of the veteran players.

Keep in mind this is happening on both sides of the argument (as usual.) It isn't 'veterans' looking down their nose, it is self-aggrandizing douchebags which are staring down their nose at how you want to play the game.

It's one thing to "helpfully suggest someone get on TS" and quite another to say "you are dumb if you don't join TS."

I've always just pugged in every game I've ever played. I like it for several reasons. Mostly because I can jump in and leave without feeling like I'm obligated to stay (I'm a dad with kids). I'm an introvert. I don't want to chat. I like the random chaos.

However, that doesn't mean that every pugger goes charging into the middle of the enemy. Believe it or not, most of us try to stay together. You say "Join a team", but I say, "We puggers already are a team".

All we ask for is a level playing field. As the game stands, it's not even close. You got players who haven't even figured out how to pilot a trial mech yet, fighting veteran players with tricked out mechs and maxed out skills.

I've had amazing, fun matches, but it was always when the teams were balanced.

I'm mostly with you there. That said, I do PUG on occasion and it is terrible - almost always at least one AFK or suicide rusher, more firing LRM's at point blank even after you tell them they do nothing, etc.

What amazes me is the number of vets crying a river about not getting to 8 man pugstomp anymore. They act like they want competitive play, but the truth is, they want easy kills.

If pre-mades want to challenge themselves, have them all load up in trial mechs and go to battle. Maybe it would remind them what it's like trying to learn this game.

That is as much a generalization as the idea of premade players all, collectively, looking down our noses at puggers.

What if the patch were instead made so that you can't drop unless you are in a premade? Would the puggers be up in arms? Yes. Would they have a right to be? Yes.

I'm all for the split queue, honestly, but my understanding is there are extreme technical difficulties to that. And, I am fairly certain that the caveat on "Phase 2" where 8 man premades will have no balancing done whatsoever ("Uneven Teams") is due to that.

I have a feeling that things are about to get much, much worse for everyone.

Lone Wolf players will be facing more, not less, organized resistance. And premade teams, when they go to phase 2, will be having horribly imbalanced matches where some cheeseheads load up full teams of nothing but the current OP FOTM while others are wanting to run more balanced lances. If they did any kind of balancing for premade queue, as it stands, we would probably see hour long wait times to find a match.

I hope I am wrong.
