Sure, this question looks and sounds silly because it's used all over the joint and I still don't know what it means.

I've been lurking through these forums a lot, and have been playing on and off for around 4-5 hours a day. I've done searching through the forums and haven't found an answer, and since I'm not playing at the moment I'll ask here.

What is a "Premade" mech? A trial mech?
What's a "PUG"?

Is the RVN 2X I've fitted with 4 med pulse lasers, DHS and Ferro-Fibrous armour, as well as ELITE proficiencies a PUG?

I play this game with a friend, and at the moment she only uses trial Mechs (being indecisive about what Mech to buy with her C-Bills), after reading this post: http://mwomercs.com/...79-matchmaking/

does this mean that I won't be able to group with her because there's only 2 of us?

A PUG (Pick-Up Group) is a team of people who were randomly grouped together by the system, and generally have very little communication or coordination.

A Premade is a group of people who queued together as a party and are generally using third-party voice communications to lay out plans, coordinate fire and keep each other informed.

Oh, okay, so that's very different to what I was thinking. No worries - thanks!

First. you welcome and in time nothing will ever equal it. I hate the use of the word pug to me it lowers the statis of newcomers.
Premade mechs are already loaded with everything to just play. oh, it can be layed out different later if you like.

Many times the best mech are by fighting them. Yes, at the beginning you will die a lot but no big deal watch on the screen which allows you to watch other players and different mechs.and loadouts. The more you watch the more you learn, loadouts, mech, and a growing number of every thing. OH, the greatest player I ever saw was a woman from day one. They see the field better,
react faster, and in time if you get with the right group. you will be killing those who would make fun of you. Crush them under your feet.

At this moment, I realy can´t support the idea of PUGs. There are a lot of premades out there and you need to team up if you want to have a good game. (or, you could run a lame-a-gausscat if this floats your boat).

I suggest to use C3 as communication tool. C3 will be supported in later versions of MWO and there is an official MWO-Channel (sort of a lobby) where you can find players.

go here: http://c3links.com/?oDf4l1kp to find the main C3-Channel.

many channels have an MWO-tag. you can search for them.

oh, by the way: when you are setting up C3, make sure to take the same nickname like in MWO, this makes it easier to be invited into groups.
