I wanted to use something that is actually confirmed to be in the game, but ts funny you should mention the Marauder.

Model: MAD-3MC
Name: Marapult
Class: Heavy
Estimated Cost: 11,112,625 C-bills
Mass: 69.8/75 Tons
Armor: 12.3 tons of Ferro Fiberous
Speed: 85.02 km/h
Heat Sink: 21
Weapons:

2x Large Laser
2X Medium Laser
2x Machine Gun w/ 2 tons of ammo
1x Medium Pulse Laser

But you lose the Missiles but not a bad set up better heat management

[EDIT] fixing post... thank you timeout... [/EDIT]

I like where you guys are going, trying to fit the madcat into 'existing' tech.
Here is a variant I am going to try to make.

It is based on the Catapult for several reasons.
1. The catapult is in the game along with the K2 version, so there is a good chance this variant will be possible.
2. without using XL engines (which I hate) it is impossible to get 86 kph move, and the tonage gains between 65-75 are minimal (most would need to go to armor)

The mech is also designed with MWO in mind. The Lg lasers are on the arms to take advantage of the 'fast tracking' targeting reticle, while the LRMs and SRM are torso mounted to take advantage of the slower 'lingering' reticle - (note: this is just conjecture based on the game play video, but from what I was seeing, the arms can be 'bounced' off target fairly easily, but the torso reticle appears to ignore some of the jarring associated with movement and weapon strikes).

And as a throwback to my TT days, I tried to ensure that mech could reach the 20 damage threshold at long and short, and the heat generation under 5 (I would normally like more heat sinks, but something had to give, that or armor).

Yawn... It took at least two mech of equal size or larger to take the Mad Cat. The Mad Cat is a great mix of firepower and mobility wrapped in a tough armored shell. Nothing screams CLAN like he Mad Cat.

I am not even a huge fan of the Timberwolf, but what you have suggested is complete heresey. Claiming that a modified Catapult could ever be close to the Timberwolf is nearly as painful as putting Inner Sphere weapons on Clan mechs.

Since we all know the Clan fans want their Mad Cat(Timber Wolf) I'm going to give it to them. In a hypothesis it should be possible to do this with the CPLT-C1 Catapult in MW:O.

Model: CPLT-MC
Name: Matapult
Class: Heavy
Estimated Cost: 9,740,585 C-bills
Mass: 65 Tons
Armor: 11 tons of Ferro Fiberous
Speed: 86.4 km/h
Heat Sink: 21
Weapons:

2x Lrm 10
2x Large Laser
2X Medium Laser
1x Medium Pulse Laser

Looks kinda like a Rakshasa stat wise. Only the Sasha is a 75 tonner. I'd pilot this so long as it has at least 85% armor load.
