Yup, I said it.
In my opinion LRMs shouldn't be able to critical hit. It happened plenty of times yesterday and this morning. Immediately after I started a match and had the first two spots in the game, I get hit by LRMs while HUGGING a wall and not that this would be enough of a noisance no, it had to be critical hits.
Basically my game was over after like a minute of playing.
I don't know for anyone else, but that is definitely not what I consider "fun" or "skillful".
Best regards
T. Hawk

LRMs or possibly anything targeted should never critical hit.

Or just fix the overall balance so that LRMs aren't as overpowered as they are now?
In the TT game, LRMs are crap... except that they have a long range and can fire indirectly; they are a SUPPORT weapon not a PRIMARY weapon. I don't think people get this, which is why they're currently so powerful, breaking the game.

People keep on saying that, yet the Clan LRM is one of the most efficient weapons in the game and the LRM 20 was literally the biggest gun in the original version- and only outdone by the AC/20 and Gauss in the Inner Sphere for quite some time.
In 3025 tech, having that immense medium-range band was an incredible advantage, letting stuff like the Archer ruin PPC armed opponents any time it could define the range at 13-14 or 7- there's a reason so many Succession War-era commanders piloted LRM 'Mechs (most notably the Archer, hello Jaime Wolf and the Kell Hounds). You could slap someone silly at arm's length and do it before the usual run-of-the-mill heavy or assault got into medium or short range.
'Mechs like the Crusader or Archer would happily disagree on your idea that it's "only a support weapon".

I thnk the current problem with LRMs is that they actually pass through terrain in many places. I don't know what exactly is wrong, but even since the engine change I've seen missiles pass through some buildings, rocks etc. like they weren't there.
Also, a lot of people are using them, so as soon as you're targeted there's a rain of missiles coming your way that kills a fully-armored Catapult in a matter of seconds.
