Is it possible? I think it would solve a lot of gripes about pre-mades since people would be able to communicate better even while pugging.
Yes the downside is idiotic children trolling on an f2p game, but an option to mute them could always be added.

There is already a third-party program called C3 that is partially integrated into the MW:O client. Full integration will be coming.

Its planned, but i don't think its implemented yet (it doesnt appear to work for me at least). Check your "options" screen from the Mech lab, there is an "enable C3 VOIP" checkbox.
There is also an announcement about voice support

I noticed that before and figured it may be coming...but it could have been something put in the options to eventually disappear. Like BAP and ECM haha.

Well that's my point here Cryonic. Puggers are not on TS together and the only way to talk to eachother is through written chat.
How often do you see pug groups annihalate pre-made groups? I am not saying it will give them an edge over a team that is used to playing together, but it will help. I personally like the fact that groups of people get together to play, but where is the challenge against a fustercluck of people that have a hard time working together when there isn't enough time to tell people what to do?

I've been gaming for 3 decades and I've never seen a multiplayer game implement in-game VOIP properly. That's the whole reason why Ventrilo and Team Speak were created.
Pretty much every online game does a half-assed VOIP.

Were PGI to build voice into the server rather than require third party support, it would be easier to use on the part of players.
Right now my attempts to get on with friends over voice chat with the C3 program have been unsuccessful. The player experience for a casual player or newcomer is not fun or acceptable as it currently stands. It will be a little better once the beta has progressed out of the wholesale slaughter phase.

BF2/2142, CS, L4D, Natural Selection 2... just some example of games that had a pretty good in-game voip..hell, even crysis had a working voip...its not that hard really....
c3 the way its implemented right now works when you are in agroup....but if you are in a group then you are probably already on a 3rd party client...its useless
i think it was a very poor choice not to include in-game voip in a game like this where teamwork is supposed to be a key gameplay element...it is not that hard to do..it doesnt really cost that much...maybe it was a big thing to implement 10 years ago but this 2012. it was a bad decision on pgi's behalf period...BF series could do it years ago..natural selection 2 can do it which is low budget/indie game..and mwo cant?
