It will be added as a Commonality within our happy and tranquil Confederation!

Hayden isn't the only one campaigning for it!
I'm not going to be a part of St. Ives, but I'd still like to see it be a faction.

They have never been someone "less worthy". They have the same rights as those of Tikonov, Sarna and Liao commonality. A chance to become citizens and a chance to rise up in ranks for being good in what they do.
Unlike in Fed Com. When was the last time you saw someone from St. Ives a leader, or even a captain of a Fed Suns unit? Never.

How about your favorite son? Kai Allard Liao?
Besides - SIC units were separate. Despite what you like to claim up and down about how they were a puppet, their units were never integrated. It's the same as saying a citizen from the FRR was never a capellan captain. They are different countries.

Um Kai Allard-Liao. Cassandra Allard-Liao. Excellent mechwarriors especially Kai, since he saved Prince Victor from those inbred Clanners. Question, if you had a Centurion with a Gauss rifle, how many clan mechs would you be able to take out? He took out 3 Clan mechs within 35 seconds. I'm sorry you cannot doubt the best mechwarrior in the inner sphere.

"Soon enough, Candace and Sun-Tzu agreed upon a peace that was largely negotiated by Kuan-Yin Allard-Liao and former ComStar Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht. This agreement called for the Allard-Liao family to hold the St. Ives Commonality as their landhold and for St. Ives to have a greater say in military matters than any of the other Commonalities. With those compromises in place, the St. Ives Compact was officially reintegrated into the Capellan Confederation in 3063 as the St. Ives Commonality."
It doesn't seem they were have such "bad life" in the Confederation. They still have a large say in their land and greater say in the Capellan military than any other of teh commonalities. I think that's enough to cal it a "merge" instead of "enslavement".
